I'm not impressed with Emily / GFL on this tbh. It shouldn't take someone asking a direct question on social media to get what is a fairly fundamental piece of information.

If they wanted to hold the date until all the info was in place and available, then that'd be different. But if they're fine to release the date by itself, then they could easily have done so unprompted via official GFL channels - and probably before now given the date must have been set for a while..

It’s the modern day equivalent of Michael saying things he shouldn’t. Part of the charm. Setting themselves apart from the corporates with regimented marketing and press release schedules.

It’s not something that’s upset me, to be honest. Even if it’s not announced until end of next week, that’s still over a month before the sale date.

I’d agree with that. I like the quirky nature of the festival organisation, tickets getting sold out long before we know who is playing, the permanent work force on the farm, the local and small traders rather than the big corporations and sponsorships. And of course Michael and Emily still at the helm with a great team behind them. It feels so much different to most other festivals.

Emily’s savvy enough to know that once mentioned on social media news like that will spread like wildfire like it has … was over all platforms yesterday without much effort and a scheduled announcement will still happen and it gets them a double whammy of coverage … no one misses out

They didnt even have to answer the f**king question either and at least interact with the public on some level ya know. How about them knowing who is playing the festival already? Are you unimpressed by the organizers having 100 artists lined up and wait until March to tell you when they couldve told you in December?

Well I could just go to a baseball game and ask the guy who runs Coachella what the hell is happening. And lots of others could, but they dont. 🤷🏻‍♂️
