Karol G confirmed a European Tour next year, Bad Bunny is rumoured to be doing one but nothing official. But those artists I feel like if they come to Europe, it would be mainly South Europe plus France, Germany and UK and that’s it. Not many people listen to Bad Bunny, Karol G even less. These artists are huge but not in the Northern Europe. But I really hope they bring one of them if not both.

Why? They will require headliner money whilst not being anywhere near headliner material. Roskilde clearly wants and always have wanted to introduce a lot of genres, as you cans see with several of the bookings this year, but burning the majority of the money on artists that will not sell tickets is risky.

I would love for Tool to be booked for Roskilde come this European Tour, but I have to acknowledge the exact same challenge: It would have required serious headliner money without them having the pull with the average young scandinavian. Idk I am bit skeptical about those 2. Bad Bunny I think he can sell a lot of tickets but I feel like he's very expensive and maybe it´s safer to bring someone more European but cheaper. Karol G on the other hand doesn't seem very expensive but also she's not nearly as famous as Bad Bunny. But if they brought Burna Boy and other urban music artists I think Karol G would be my main bet.

I really have no idea if Bad Bunny specifically is big in Denmark or not (Then again im a 33 year old Englishman living in Copenhagen so not in the bracket for the local younger generation 😄).

I was surprised Burna Boy was a headliner last year but he apparently went down really well and pulled a big crowd (I went to see someone else). Rosalia pulled a MASSIVE crowd in Arena too (I took the photo below at the end of her set and was about 3/4 back from the stage; and this was after I hot-footed over after Blur finished to catch a few songs). The festival organisers usually keep an eye on these kinds of crowd numbers.

Thursday: Bad Bunny
Friday: Foo Fighters
Saturday: SZA

J Balvin just announced a big European your and he included all the Nordic countries plus Denmark. I see a lot of Latin artists coming to Denmark lately so I would guess that Bad Bunny and Karol G coming to Roskilde would not be that weird.

I think the headliners you’ve put are too ambitious, don’t think they can bring both Lana and SZA if they manage to bring Bad Bunny and vice versa.

Both Werchter and Down The Rabbit Hole announced a lot of names today. I think the announcment tomorrow should have not more than these names:

Werchter: "The list of new arrivals for the upcoming edition is as captivating as it is varied. dEUS, Snow Patrol, Yungblud and Sum 41 are coming to Werchter on Friday 5 July. Saturday 6 July will feature newcomers like The Last Dinner Party, Róisín Murphy, Nothing But Thieves, Avril Lavigne and Khruangbin. Michael Kiwanuka and Royal Blood will play the festival on Sunday 7 July. More names will be revealed soon."

Down the rabbit hole:

Feel like the annoucment tomorrow won't have any super big stars like Bad Bunny or Lana or Dua Lipa but will be instead focused on the undercard and some second line names. My bet:

LCD Soundsystem, Jessie Ware, Maneskin, Noname, Ty Segall, Jungle, Michael Kiwanuka, Jpegmafia, Roisin Murphu, plus some danish acts. Bigger names like Lana del Rey or SZA or Bad Bunny (if he's coming at all) probably should come around January/February.

Not officially no, but there's a big possibility, they usually announce on the last day of each month. Plus all their rivals are announcing this week so would make sense.

It's happened too much recently. And actually all years since I've started coming to the Festival. Had to give up on Malk de Kojn, Tame Impala, Robias Rahim and Ukendt Kunstner. Chose Blur because I knew it would be overcrowded at Rosalia. Had to give up midway through Stormzy. Give the artists the Orange stage if they have the pull. Especially with other artists struggling to fill the orange stage at all. 

Your predictions would make Roskilde's 4 headliners insane from a global point of view. Not to my liking personally, but pretty huge. Would love The Prodigy and Smashing Pumpkins but I am sceptical of both. I have no clue who the 4 top headliners could be. Also sceptical of Lana because she has fests early June and later august already (break in the middle and played Glasto last year). Fearing we could still get something like Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa (because she appearantly likes the festival - nothing against her. Just too soon).

Dua Lipa really likes the festival from what I heard. Plus she was in Copenhagen the past days, and that is a bit funny considering that new names are coming tomorrow. Plus she’s going to Werchter and Opener on the same days so going for a day to Copenhagen (either from Gdańsk or Belgium) is very very easy. 
 

Bad Bunny I think is not possible. Could see Karol G coming. Lana seems not have any dates in July. SZA seems probable. I would say SZA and Karol G could be in. Then there are also talks about Billie Eilish but she has not dates.

My prediction would be:

Foo Fighters + Maneskin

Dua Lipa + Disclosure/Justice 

SZA + Karol G

LCD Soundsystem + The Prodigy/Smashing Pumpkins

And I think I’m being too optimistic, don’t think they can bring all of these, seems expensive but that’s my guess

None of these are headliners from what I understand, so we are still missing 3 headliners that we will probably only get in in January and February and maybe even March. Lana del Rey, SZA, Pulp, LCD Soundsytem, Smashing Pumpkins, The Produgy and Dua Lipa were already announced as headliners in other festivals so if they haven’t been announced by Roskilde yet it’s because it’s none of them.
My guess we are getting something like Billie Eilish and Bad Bunny/Karol G. And the last headliner could be something above mentioned like Smashing Pumpkins or LCD Soundsystem.

Don’t like Foo Fighters but we are still missing 3 other headliners and big names. The undercard for now seems nice, maybe even better than last year and it’s not even finished. 60 to 70% of the names are missing.

Even though i've seen Foos like a dozen times and have only loved 1 album they have done in the last 20 years; im still excited to see them again, especially as for a big mainstream rock act that could play Roskilde these days they are definetly in the top bracket in terms of showmanship and having a stellar catalogue of singles that will pack the set. Happy its them taking the rock headliner slot than some guff like Mumford and Sons or Imagine Dragons. 😄

Hi guys, a couple of questions regarding tickets: how fast do they usually sell?  is it better if I get the ticket (full pass) now before the price increases or is it still too early? I saw that the price is now 2440 dkk (which is around €330) on Ticketmaster and it is more or less an average figure for festivals so I was wondering what do you guys recommend... thanks in advance

I don’t think the price is going to increase, at least in the past years the price was always the same. The festival usually gets sold out some weeks or months before, so until all the lineup is revealed around March don’t think any day or full festival ticket is going to be sold out. Depends on the artist, but usually you have a lot of time.
