No-one with any sense thinks they'd do anything other than headline Pyramid, if they do an advertised slot. Them subbing would absolutely not happen.
I'd say the festival could afford them though, and Billie Joe has attended the festival as a punter, so is far more likely to be amenable to doing it.
Slim pickings for me on Sunday so went along to this as I at least knew one song. Literally one song.
Had an absolute blast. Chilled at the back for a lot of it but joined the crowd at points. Think I've avoided them in the past as they struck me as dull. Anything but though. The sound was huge and it was emotional. Perfect Sunday night closer.
Consider me a fan now.
From what little I know of the subject (friend of a friend is in the industry) it isn’t always as easy as just swapping an artist across stages. The contracts are often signed for a specific stage. Sometimes the artists want a specific stage. Glastonbury has done it where they’ve been able to give people a bump up when an act has cancelled but just making people move to a smaller stage (as BBC would have been doing) is much trickier.
What did he miss though? Avril Lavigne was pretty good tbf but the rest of the lineup around the time of the match was utter arse water. It's one of the weakest Glasto Sundays of all time.
I'd have watched the match too if I was there given the chance. There wasn't a great deal to drag my attention away. It finished in plenty of time for Justice too.
