Really strange one, because they may not meet the UK ticket requirement stuff on paper, but they'd be a big draw, and I doubt Trent would accept anything less + probably want to curate the main stage and they wouldn't let him.
Doubt it'll ever happen.
Honestly it’s just fun, there’s the adventure of getting on the ferry, lots of cheesy music where you can act an idiot, cover bands that again you can act an idiot and sing every word, the people are nice. I normally go to Glastonbury and last year we went to IOW and I really don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun at
a festival
Yeah, I'm disappointed - though had Oasis not reunited, it would have been at #2 and probably more close-run.
The lack of longevity maybe suggests that people have reached the stage where they want to see him as a "hits" artist - but the sales for the First Direct Arena show in Leeds were really slow last time I looked. Kind of gutting.
Rihanna has got bangers for days - too many to fill a ninety-minute show, in fact, I'd argue.
Olivia Rodrigo meanwhile has more crossover with the Radio 2 demographic than SZA, I'd also argue. (Please do shout accordingly otherwise.) I don't think she'd have the fear of playing to a half-empty field.
Speaking of half-empty fields, I love Iron Maiden. But I cannot figure out what metrics they've looked at to think they'll sell out London Stadium - which is at least 70,000 to be filled these days - when they have three other UK shows eating into those sales.
I know chart positions aren't everything, but quite surprised by how badly Wild God has flopped. In at #5 for one week and then sunk like a stone. I thought physical sales would have kept him buoyant but clearly not.
