The Festival acknowledges that booking SZA was viewed as a mistake by many and is keen to learn from the small crowd, Contact has been made with her team post festival and the bookers are actually keen for SZA to return to the farm in the future although no actual plans are put in place at this point, the team don’t want SZA legacy with the festival to be perceived as a negative one. They will follow her career closely and it may be 10 or more years when she returns and as to what slot she occup
While I understand the Jenrick and Starmer comparison I think there is a significant difference. Starmer may have courted left wing members, but he didn’t really court the MPs. Starmer went into the members vote with over half of the MPs supporting him which is a lot stronger position. Jenrick has only the support of 1/3 of MPs which is a lot less stable and reliant on the right wingers to keep him in power, in a way Starmer never needed the lefty MPs.
Yeah I have really fallen in love with just how much music is out there, you are always one listen away from finding a new favourite and it is just addictive
I have a very loose criteria for rating, it is like 80% just how much I enjoy it and then there is a small factoring in of the quality/ambition of the project too
Prelude to Ecstasy - The Last Dinner Party - my favourite album of the year, fell in love with the band, my most listened to album of the year by a mile, I don't believe it is the best album this year but I just have so much love for it
Midas - Wunderhorse - Cub was a grower on me and Midas was one of my most anticipated albums of the year, I loved the singles and the album itself lived up to my hype too
Where we've been , Where we go from here - Friko - The highest rated by an artist I had never heard of before this year. Big Arcade Fire vibes, just without the ick
My son (early 30s) turned me on to her music, I'm 53 and absolutely certain that this year's spotify wrapped will confirm that I've absolutely rinsed both albums since then. Easily the most listened to albums of the last year for me.
I don't think age matters, sometimes music just grabs you.
But Corbyn beat 2 starmers when it was the party voting. So expect a Badenoch win.
Also it doesnt matter who wins, as sh*t as they both are, they both beat Starmer in 2029.
