He should in terms of musical quality. Don't know how it would actually go down

I agree.

I love the man to no end, but he's just put out one of the weakest records of his career.  He should headline the other stage and it will go down like a house on fire.

Xenophobic language will not be tolerated, we've hidden the post for now, whilst we discuss the best course of action to take.

Apologies that the post stayed up so long, there was a bit of a mixup in that we thought we'd hidden it already, and hadn't. Thankyou for handling it pretty well yourselves in the meantime.

To the offending poster, If you can't join in with discussions, on what is primarily a music discussion board, without making xenophobic, racist, sexist or any other twattish comments, then just don't post here at all.

Not bad when your weak records are an 89 average 😉

For all the people who said LDR should have topped in '23, she's got stadium dates around the festival this year.

The one hour she got to perform in 2023 was one of the highlights of the festival for me that year. At one point when screens went blank and no movement on the stage I was convinced she would not show at all. Then it started. All her own fault from what I have read but for those 60 minutes she was magnificent. I would love to see her headline but I am not sure they would risk booking her.

Hasn’t been back in over a decade now.. have to assume he’s holding out for a slot the fest just aren’t willing to give him 😞

Ultimately this.

Of course, arguments can be made for the risk with others too - The 1975 have a frontman whose provocations may well not play best to a neutral crowd, and Sam Fender's health issues mean there's a chance he won't make it either.

Jo wiley announcing 8am radio 4.

Just came to say the same.

Odd place to announce the first headliner, who would suit both Jo Whiley and a Today programme act?

Nick Cave?

Let two hours of speculation commence.

Probably after 8.10am by the way.

Just to add to my own speculation, didn't Nick Cave guest edit the Today programme a couple of years ago? Would make sense.
