I don't know much about Neil young so had to Google this to check that it's actually his nickname. Still, Shakin' Stevens anyone? I've said it before and I've said it again, Last Man Alive is a choon.
NorthernSoul52
Also, Duran Duran finally getting over the line as a sub is kind of mad. Assumed they were prime legends fodder - though Le Bon has chafed at that before. Says they'll only play when it's dark and on the Pyramid, which basically was read as "we headline or we do nothing". Jamm
Friday - The 1975 v Loyle Carner Saturday - Neil Young v Charli XCX Sunday - O Rod v Prodigy Interesting balances, would give me Friday definitely free from the main two stages, and I could be tempted away the Sunday. Assuming Rod -> Chic -> Duran Duran completely rules out Chappell? Assumed the festival would have loved to get three out of Charli / O Rod / Chappell / Sabrina. Unless Sabrina gets some afternoon Other slot like Billie Eilish and O Rod did previous? Despite earlier indications of 1975/Fred/O Rod and worries the festival was catering too much to the TikTokkers, it seems a lot more balanced with new rumours. NorthernSoul52
Had been leaning towards the sense The 1975 and Charli XCX would likely avoid the same day, mostly so George Daniel could watch his future wife or even pull a quick cameo himself. At a push, I'd watch The 1975 and Olivia, but wouldn't be devastated to miss any of those, or Rod or Chic. Probably would be up for Duran Duran if they played though! Saturday would be difficult though, head or heart? Quite like to see what is going on elsewhere.

Badlands
Is Duran just putting 2+2 based on that gig announcement? Doesn’t make them a lock-in?

They do indeed have form for often playing dates around the festival but not appearing.

It has sustained itself as a live fixture ever since, rather than simply made a comeback on the strength of Cocaine Bear.

stuie
I just can't see the festival deciding to close the Pyramid with Olivia Rodrigo... not after last year. I know she's massive, but amongst the Glasto Sunday crowd (locals, lawn chairs and picknet blankets) I think there's a chance of a mass early exodus, like the scenes of last year. I'd imagine they want to head into the fallow year with an Elton John level of Pyramid field satisfaction.

Yet again, I do love him and his music and thought his 2023 West Holts set was one of the best I saw that year but I didn't even know he would be active next year. I am surprised to see him so high up so soon, I thought if his next album did really well and boosted him up, he'd be well in contention.
