2025 Headliners

With Michael being the age he is and Neil being maybe his favourite artist I wonder if they're willing to compromise a little on how much they pay for him as a one off.

But that being said - I'm in my mid 20s and my whole Glastonbury group would be buzzing Neil Young playing, and I reckon most of us would go down the front for it. I've looked at his past setlists and he seems reluctant to play all the hits - but I'm sure that doesn't matter, and won't detract from the incredible show he'll put on

Number 1 artist on Spotify, top percentage of listeners? Pah! A true Neil Young fan knows that NYA is where it's at! 😜

Tbf I forgot Neil Young took his stuff down from Spotify and then put it back up again. So clearly I'm not that strongly in the loop with all his happenings.

I'm pretty sure that when Bowie played, the coverage agreement wasn't written into it in the same way it now is.

Not sure about when the Stones played, but even if it was - it's the Stones.

The Stones played 2 nights at BST at Hyde Park in the weeks after the festival and were selling a DVD of it later that year (which I got brought for Xmas) so thats why they didn't want their full set televised I believe

Don't know much about Neil Young so have decided to give him a listen. Just listened to the After the Gold Rush album and I like it!

Any recommendations on where to go next?

hilarious jokes aside, Everybody knows this is nowhere is my personal favourite. With Harvest moon and  Hawks & Doves also up there for me

That makes sense  - they probably needed that extra cash from the DVD sales

So, we're still leaning The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, it seems.

In terms of the names most recently cited, yeah.

What I’m enjoying about this year is that nobody seems to have much clue at all. The names being dropped changes each day as someone else with ‘info’ ensures another few days are spent talking about an act, before someone else does the same with someone different.

Everything is still to play for.

Agreed, especially that 3rd slot which changes every few days. Just a few days ago Taylor Swift was back in the conversation and then that got replaced by Neil Young.

I have all my fingers crossed for a nice surprise in the future.

Don't forget Stevie Wonder, who's changed his mind more times that the 'people in the know'!

Taylor swift was only mentioned on here cause of one tweet from someone. No solid info.

Main people who have had some sort of info on them for 2025 are:

O Rod, 1975, Stevie W, Sam Fender, Neil Young, Eminem, Fred Again and that's basically it I think.

It's a changing picture though, some are locks (O Rod) and some it seems were the festival offering but it presumably being turned down (eminem) so that's how you end up with a variety of names. As it gets closer to March the rumours get firmed up more and more to the point where you basically can always know who is headlining in advance.

Seems that way 👀

Taylor Swift being in the conversation at all baffled me. Kind of glad that one seems to have died out.

The fact The S*n went in on The 1975 after those sources and the odds boded strongly for their prospects. Rodrigo's dates align too perfectly.

The third fascinates me.
