Muse just announced a Stockholm show for the Friday of Glasto weekend. So if Matty Healy talks the 1975 out of the Glastonbury slot many here think is theirs, that's one less Plan B available.

What is we have it all wrong and Muse are being offered the spot that Foo Fighters could have had at Glastonbury. I think I saw somewhere that muse are being offered the spots foo fighters were meant to have at the European Festivals. It would be a killer tho because i will somehow have to get into Glasto

Pretty sure Foos were lined up for Reading/Leeds and were replaced by BMTH so unlikely they were ever in the conversation for Glastonbury.

She's headlining Primavera but so is Charli who is only doing Parklife. Primavera like many festivals aren't getting everything as jig as they did.

Primavera has sold out the fastest ever after Chappell, Charli and Sabrina were announced as headliners. That doesn't mean they have to headline Glastonbury, though. They're very different festivals and selfishly I'd rather not see all three twice in the same month lmao. But I don't think any of them would be out of place at Glasto, especially Chappell and Charli. Anyway, if they end up as subs, there will be a huge crowd.

I'm saying more when they are booked, they aren't ridiculous to be subbing, Primavera is also much cheaper. After listening them all I actually think I'd watch Sabrina who I don't particularly take to an Chappell over Chari.

hope so, so skybet pay out my winnings (nothing major only backed her at evens but it was a sure thing)

still livid at missing out on The 1975 at daft odds. 20/1 briefly, was it?

Ludicrous.

Yeah for months the rumour was that Foos were going on a big 30 year anniversary tour and that it would include Reading & Leeds, and Reading's organiser seemed to hint in an interview at one point he was working on bringing them there for it. But yeah, they now seemed to have put everything on ice.

I legit thought Hozier was the replacement act rather than BMTH, but whatever. Point is, no Foos at R&L either way but no Muse as a replacement either. I still think Muse for BST Hyde Park might be a possibility - no inside intel, just a guess on who could fill the 2 vacant slots that place has. Maybe I am just doing 2+2=22.

I don't understand why they wait until March to release the poster when every other major festival announces months earlier. I doubt very much that they are less organised and still trying to lock in the names on the poster so why hold it for so long? I understand the full lineup with times being later but I'd be shocked if they don't already have locks on the poster acts. What's the rationale for not releasing it earlier?

cause theyre slow as hell with negotiating and signing acts. We even saw that last year when Emily was asked why Lizzo didnt just headline instead of getting GnR in the wake of that all white top line and she said they hadnt even gotten Lizzo onboard in any capacity when they were seeking to fill that slot that GnR took. She came afterwards. So yeah, however they sign acts is a snails pace and its a big double edged sword. Cause look at all the flux in this last month. Look at it early this year. Some random little thing derails it all and they arent the fest which can totally whip up an equal replacement just at the drop of a hat.  Theres plenty of artists booked but itll be much tougher if they announce it all in Jan and then 4 months later somebody drops off and youre f**ked. But money is also another thing. They want these acts to get their tours sold and such. But its still backwards logic that somehow 140,000 people make that much of a difference on an artists tour sales when theyve got a festival ticket already. That would be an interesting survey. What percentage of people would go see such and such artist at the festival vs on their own if given the choice, just straight up. Money isnt an issue or anything. Just picking.

I mean Coachella's organizer just did an interview and said they wanted to get it out early this year because they had it all sorted and wanted to get ahead of more names leaking and such. Although the strategy of getting holiday money worked pretty well so far since their sales look to be doing much better than last years after the announcement.

There’s no way way Olivia Rodrigo isn’t headlining if she’s playing

The Scum hacks would surely know that though....which suggest even more that it's another bullsh*t headline grabbing piece based on little but speculation they've grabbed from elsewhere.  Completely normal for them then.
