2025 Headliners

To be fair I took "older legend" as an attempt to categorise the headliners rather than suggesting her for Sunday 4pm.

The problem I have with that is that trying to stick rigidly to a formula of "One upcoming, One established, one legend" is that it limits things way too much when really a lot of the time it's going to come down to who's available.

Yeah it was a headliner 'category'. I completely take your point, it's not a super productive lens to view headliners through. My comment was more aimed at the "what will happen when there's no Macca/ Bruce/ Madonna anymore" narrative, because when they're gone there will be other names in their place.

At that point it will be the likes of Blur and Radiohead that are the wizened, silver-haired heritage acts.

I mean yeah, they've been around as long as Bowie had when he headined in 2000.

New Sam Fender ft Noah Kahan dropping this Friday. Could see both on the farm next year, maybe Noah subbing Sam, as dull as that would be.

Wouldn't even be surprised to see the Stick Season Songsmith there this year in some shape or form.

Apparently headlining Electric Picnic here in Aug. I'd never heard of the kid, honest.

He's in the States, otherwise I'd say he'd be a good bet for 2nd/3rd Pyramid.

Was just coming here to mention this one. Given how Stick Season is such a hit right now, expect this to do top-twenty for the pair of 'em. Could definitely see him as a third-down pick, unless his stock blossoms even further. (Two arena tours this year, so he's definitely making the most of the moment.)

Okay, hear me out, but I don’t think that it’s too absurd to start considering someone like Beyoncé for the ‘older legend’ spot.

While she’s not actually that old, Dangerously in Love 2 is on the latest setlist and that came out as close to Rumours as it did to 2025. There was the same time between the formation of Destiny’s Child and Rosa Parks’ bus protest as there will be between their formation and Glasto 2025.

Another 10-20 years. If she's coming back any time this decade, she's topping the bill.

I'm just going to throw out guesses randomly, though I'm beholding myself to my own biases and balances, granted.

Your homegrown arena heroes (Dave, Sam Fender, The 1975), your post-millennium megastars (Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Harry Styles) and your twentieth-century stalwart seat fillers (AC/DC, Billy Joel, Madonna).

On the up, at the top, on the down. They're fluid categories, of course, but maintain one from each every year would deliver the perfect mix.

I'm going to say, Sam Fender, Pink, Madonna. Legend: Stevie Nicks

It won't be Pink or Madonna. Both have got the chance to have played this year after just touring last. Pink especially will have two years of stadiums tours and be on a 3rd year touring and Madonna just won't accept the money.

Still maintain Pink would be a cracker of a headliner and that top of the Pyramid is the only place she can play.

This being said, would not be surprised - if we are fortunate enough to still have a festival like this in a decade - if she enters the legend conversation if she hasn't headlined before.
