A fool of the highest order, if so.

Question for me is whether they have another new record in the can and ready to go ahead of it.

I reckon they’ll be rushing to get one out to build on the hype. Gotta make the most of it whilst people are still hungry. Would be weird headline Download off the back of a two year album.

In terms of who that could be:

O-Rod: Looks a decent bet.

Swifty: Once the Eras tour is wrapped up and all the money has been made would she fancy the prestige set?

Rhianna: Rumours circling for a while, could this finally be the year?

Madge: Tour will be long wrapped up and she likes the bag too much.

Florence: One for the more guitar focused crowd?

Feels like one of those statements that could come back to bite her.

Yeah it's surely an aspiration at this stage rather than a promise?

We all know how quickly things can go south in the world of festival booking.

Maybe she peaked as a sub-headliner but I'd chuck Lorde in there too given she's expected to have new music by next year.

That's my thought. Looking at the chat this year, and this is not a knock against her, SZA appears to be a third choice booking who helps to keep the promise of two female headliners.

You'd rather EE not paint the festival into a corner. If you've got Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Olivia Rodrigo all on the dotted line, then fair enough - scream that to the heavens!

But if not, then keep your cards close. One festival at a time, eh?

Taylor Swift

Olivia Rodrigo

Lady Gaga

Pink

Stevie Nicks

Madonna

Potentially Raye if she keeps growing at the rate she is

Doja Cat

Probably not Blackpink, but they are big enough

Rihanna

At a stretch, Lorde

Not Lana anymore thanks to her antics last year

Then you never know when previous headliners such as Adele/Billie Eilish/Florence/Beyoncé might return. Most of them seem unlikely but you never know. Really exciting times.

Edit: just realised someone did a list in the other thread and put in Ariana Grande too. Not forgetting by the time half of this list get the phone call there'll be new headline level female artists who we've not yet heard of

Nicks won't be back if truly the Legend this year.

Won't lie though, think folk with an interest like Sam Fender, Dave and The 1975 might be a touch disgruntled with some of those bookings getting the nod ahead of them on the basis that they're simply chasing a three-female trio.

Anything that keeps the 1975 off the top line works for me.

We'll just have to wait and see how the pieces fall, if the likes of Swifty and Rhianna are up for it then they would be fools not to go for them. It's way too early to be committing to anything though.

We have this every year though where an Eavis family member starts talking about the next year's festival and all the fantastic things they've got in store.
