Very average performance looked like they wanted to get though it quickly as they could. Followed by Pulp who as im sure most of us know are a fantastic live act - wiped the floor with them Jarvis and Julien are different ends of charisma spectrum. Feel sorry for those at Reading when Stokes came on second. Big fan of the first three albums but - (IMO) all the strokes albums after than I think have been pretty poor compared. Tbf this just makes me think of my regret of not doing the full weekend at Reading 2011. I came on the Sunday to see Muse doing Origin in full, and had a great time seeing Friendly Fires before them, but there are many acts on the first two days I've since gone on to see, including Strokes and Pulp themselves. Pulp's Reading 2011 set looked so great on YouTube. Strokes one looked fine but feels like it may have suffered by having to follow the blast beforehand. Superscally
The Strokes were off the chain good at All Points East. Apparently there were sound issues, but not where we were...

It wasn't really great on the second stage for Interpol or Courtney Barnett either, I found.

If they could do a threepeat on the Pyramid of Interpol into YYYs, maybe even with BRMC before Interpol, I'd sell a kidney for that. 3 minutes ago, stuie said: I worked that and we blagged it in to the VIP pit at the front left and the sound was chest pressingly immense! DomDom1984
The Strokes are the only band I've seen at TRNSMT when I've thought "that was f**king terrible". Seen em in 2002, on Glasgow Green again btw, and it was definitely better, but they were essentially filling a headline set with one album and some unfinished new stuff. The full-on Meet Me in the Bathroom slot eh I wouldn't strictly be opposed to that tbf.

I was at that one - my second time seeing em but definitely the point where I twigged that they just didn't really have the juice as a live act. Good line-up though - White Stripes, Jane's Addiction, Pulp and The Strokes back to back.

I'd forgotten about them - and they're not on the poster - but you're quite right. Also The Vines at the very pinnacle of their month-long period of hype and indie stardom.

Unexpected highlight of the weekend was Flogging Molly taking a late switch onto Saturday main stage and putting on a glorious wee set. What a delightful first festival that was. NorthernSoul52
Still think we're possibly missing a heritage one somewhere on here. But stumped as to who, unless it is a returning shout - and there's few who fit the shape.
CaledonianGonzo
Kinda gone quiet on the Stevie front. Zach Bryan, ELO, O-Rod and now the f**king Wolverine popping up at BST but no sign yet of Stevland.
NorthernSoul52
If they hadn't been and done it before, I'd have jabbed at the BST booking and said "now or never" for ELO in the Legends Slot.
CaledonianGonzo
Thing is, if it's not Stevie or Eminem or Rihanna (with the latter two having given the finger to the paltry fee) then there aren't many other names in the vicinity that scream Glastonbury headliner. I dunno if they'll want a re-run of last year where they hoist someone up a level and it doesn't pan out Maybe we've been too hasty to write off Green Day. NorthernSoul52
Got to assume Billy Joel would have balked at the fee if approached too, which is a shame.

I mean it's not going to be him regardless, but I wouldn't have thought he'd be so fussed on the fee - the pedigree of the other acts that have done it wouldn't be lost on him.
