Yeah agreed. If it is next I would suspect a January announcement.

Personally reckon they need an announcement this side of the year to sell it. Use Christmas to bag sales for it would be my guess if it happens. It's not the type of gig that announcing after everyone has done their Christmas shopping and has no money you want to make.

Normally I would agree but I don't think they'd announce until after their tour. Even though it's sold out they'd have merch sales in mind, don't want people to skip out on a t-shirt thinking they'll get a Knotfest one instead. Plus what with it all being live nation I reckon they want to give Download the pre-christmas run at selling tickets.
Judas Yeast
The Knotfest announcement has been met with negativity really. Fans aren't that into the lineup from first glance

I don't think it would deter people from getting a 25th anniversary but I see the point. Most of me days knotfest won't happen here as it won't sell enough. People have had their chance to see the 25th anniversary tour. It's literally literally just a day dedicated to Slipknot similar to what would be booked for a day at Download. Also sidenote, Metallica and Linkin Park did the first Sonisphere....would be a dream for those 2 to team up again for a Soni return or a new fest in July. Saw Metallica with special guests Linkin Park and The Darkness at the RDS Dublin in 2003. What an amazing gig that was and still my favourite
RedJosh
The only stinker on the Knotfest Aus announcement IMO is Slaughter to Prevail. If they want Deathcore get someone good - Lorna Shore, Suicide Silence, Carnifex, Whitechapel, Fit for an Autopsy, Paleface Swiss, etc.
