Gotta be next year surely?

Yeah agreed. If it is next I would suspect a January announcement.

Personally reckon they need an announcement this side of the year to sell it. Use Christmas to bag sales for it would be my guess if it happens. It's not the type of gig that announcing after everyone has done their Christmas shopping and has no money you want to make.

Normally I would agree but I don't think they'd announce until after their tour. Even though it's sold out they'd have merch sales in mind, don't want people to skip out on a t-shirt thinking they'll get a Knotfest one instead. Plus what with it all being live nation I reckon they want to give Download the pre-christmas run at selling tickets.

I don't think it would deter people from getting a 25th anniversary but I see the point. Most of me days knotfest won't happen here as it won't sell enough. People have had their chance to see the 25th anniversary tour. It's literally literally just a day dedicated to Slipknot similar to what would be booked for a day at Download.

I know it's cheaper for the US bands to do a US fest but honesty with this kinda line up they must be having some bands for free or even charging them like Ozzfest used to.

Also sidenote, Metallica and Linkin Park did the first Sonisphere....would be a dream for those 2 to team up again for a Soni return or a new fest in July.

Saw Metallica with special guests Linkin Park and The Darkness at the RDS Dublin in 2003. What an amazing gig that was and still my favourite

The only stinker on the Knotfest Aus announcement IMO is Slaughter to Prevail. If they want Deathcore get someone good - Lorna Shore, Suicide Silence, Carnifex, Whitechapel, Fit for an Autopsy, Paleface Swiss, etc.

Hard agree. STP’s music sucks.

Still think they need to nail the location for it. Heart of the midlands, you walk straight into Download territory. Knebworth seems the logical shout, but hasn't happened for whatever reason.

I would just choose Finsbury, away from the Midlands but with Download again and an arena tour it just feels overkill.

On something else, I think both Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls and Billet are big options for this as they are at Vanstream Germany who have shared acts over years. Frank Turner could also be an option for Glastonbury but as the festival is Friday and Saturday of Glastonbury, they would need to be Friday.

Bullet are going to be at Download probably and likely higher than they should be. Won't be surprised if they are subbing Green Day with FIR and Deftones subbing. FIR in my opinion below Korn makes a lot of sense as you are putting a band below them selling enough to essentially co-headline but I agree being fresh and experience of the band on be bigger scale stops that.

Not that I want it there, but I have to guess Knotfest would be a MK Bowl thing

I think given the difficulty of it that it's not somewhere Knotfest would be. Choose a London park with easy transport options. Somewhere way away from the midlands, it's literally only an hour 20 from download to mk bowl.

It's where they booked the announced 2020 version

And awe how that turned out. Let's be honest it wasn't just covid that bunned it, most gigs that got delayed or cancelled were rearranged and then rearranged again if needed for say late 2021/early 2022. We are talking 2 and half years later going into 3 years with no sign of it. I would even go as far as sayign that if Slipknot were planning a 2025 Knotfest in England they would announced 25th Anniversary at Knotfest rather than 25th anniversary arena tour then try and sell out 50k tickets after playing a festival that didn't sell out, even on day tickets I don't believe on their lowest capped capacity for a while I know of?
