I did but no dice! Better luck next time 😂🙈

Oh pants! Will there be a next time?! I'm saving my entry for when I get the 'it's time' feeling 🤣 I've also considered calculating the amount of tickets by the length of time the competition is open to see if I can predict a winning moment but I'm not smart enough for that.

It’s worked this morning! If anyone else wants to try it takes 48hrs to activate the rewards and opens the door to any Vodafone customer competitions

If anyone lives in London check out Chillys insta! Another competition tomorrow 👍.

Sometimes I don’t know how I feel about these ticket competitions that play into the hype of how difficult it is to buy Glastonbury tickets (or, I suppose, how demand far exceeds supply). Part of me thinks that the competitions are a result of the festival being over commercialised (which I do realise it probably has to be these days for financial reasons) but nonetheless it just becomes and feels a bit tacky and against the ethos of the festival for people to engage in overconsumption for a ticket so that a company can make an Instagram reel. I suppose I say this because I’m jaded and haven’t got a ticket, so easy for me to be negative and hasn’t stopped me from entering.

Similar here. However I do draw a distinction between the ones like Tonys Chocolate/Oxfam , the Glastonbury Festival Emergency Fund Prize Draw etc that go to a good cause. The ones I really don't like (myself for entering) are the ones like Brothers. As far as I can tell any money generated from a boost in sales just goes directly to them and no further. Plus its wasteful, idiots like me buying something they really don't want for a very small chance of a ticket to Glastonbury. It doesn't fit in with my view of the festival ethos, but obviously not enough to stop me, as I'm still buying and entering. At the end of the day I want a ticket.

I quite like the ones where effort is required and there is a distinction between that and buying a product . Although the Tony’s chocolate one is good because it encourages footfall to oxfam shops . This year though it feels like a really big number of prizes .

My thoughts exactly. I like the charity ones because, like you say, at least there is some kind of net benefit to entering, even if you don't win the top prize (which, of course, would be amazing!)

It's right by the Tate Modern on the Southbank. Imagine you're looking to the left of the building if you had St Paul's behind you. I've always admired the cottages there, which are the houses in the video with the yellow and teal doors. Essentially in between the Globe and the Tate Modern.

Bit London centric, innit?

Yes.

I don't mind "hype" competitions, or ones that require a bit of effort - but they shouldn't be exclusionary.

And this one is as exclusionary as they come, give that it rules out anyone who can't easily get to central London for an as-yet unspecified amount of time on a weekeday lunchtime/afternoon.

I've just come back from a trip into town. While there the Oxfam shop caught my eye, and I thought it must be fate. So, I went in and bought a bar. I had no idea that they were £3.99 a bar. Anyway, I didn't win. Boo hoo.

To be fair, £4 is the "standard" price for a bar of Tony's, even at supermarkets. You can sometimes get them on offer at £2.50 or £3, but Oxfam probably aren't going to do that (especially not competition bars).

Thanks for the added information. I don't mind as it's for charity anyway. That said, I only bought the bar to get two people off efests a Glasto ticket, so may have to leave my chocolate purchases there for the moment.

Jaded...

the perfect sentiment.

Of course I want to go but the whole ticket getting process just has me wanting it to be over and done this weekend, so I can move on...

I had a great run from 2007 to 2019, that I always thought was down to my organisation and preparedness.. But (assuming the worst this weekend) missing 2 out of 3 will definitely have me moving closer to a "cant be arsed" attitude..

I'm the same on wanting it to be over and done. I'm about 95% certain its not happening in the resale, its just so popular. I'll have to go on a full ignore and unfollow of everything Glastonbury related from Sunday most likely!

I feel like I’ve been enough to experience the things I’ve wanted to experience and part of me does think a years break would do no harm as it only makes you appreciate it more once you return. I haven’t even watched it on the telly when I’ve not been, it’s more the thing of being there with my mates and having a nice time. There’s other factors that make Glastonbury meaningful for me but I suppose they’re not that different to the things that make it mean something to anyone who has an affinity with the place. It’s the ticket sales that get to me, as outlined by others, going through the build up and frustration…just let it be done!

I thought the same but I like the lineup more than most other years I've been, so much strength in depth for what I like. Now I'm desperate to get there!

Does anyone have ideas on the location? I've got 2 clues so far

Yes - I agree with the poster above re the south bank cottages. However, I have zero prospect of ditching children and work responsibilities and getting there. All I need is one golden ticket for me, and I’ll have 3 ecstatic small children - but just can’t get to London.
