R+L have sent a quiz out for free tickets for next year and it asks about headliners and non-headliners for next year. Very interesting who they have listed as headliners and as non headliners. I'll get some screen shots and post in here before I complete it sans my picks.

I did that yesterday. From memory, the 5 headliners of my choice I put down were: The Strokes, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Chase & Status and Green Day. 
 

From their list, I selected a few of the above and then Tyler the Creator and someone else I can’t recall. 
 

Other acts to play, I put my own choices as: IDLES, The Streets, Sabrina Carpenter, Little Simz and Chappell Roan. 

 

From their list of other acts, I went: Limp Bizkit, Deftones, A Day To Remember, KoRn and Bloc Party.

Yeah, that's the one.

 

Found it really interesting how many acts were both in the headliner and non-headliner pool as well as the sheer volume of metal and alternative acts.

My first thought when witnessing the stage last weekend was ‘I’d love to see Enter Shikari on this stage.’ However, I don’t think they have the appeal with the broader audience at R&L these days to headline it and they would probably be more likely to headline the R1 tent if they were to play. I would love to be proved wrong, though. A Shikari set on the Chevron at night would be unreal.

I think they want 6 to justify the much higher ticket prices more than anything - reading has gone up way way faster than most other fests

 

Also to sell these £200 day tickets you clearly need two headliners

They’re £125

 

Theyve made it clear they’ll lash them up if they sell well, they’re clearly not selling a days worth of tickets at £200 even with 2 headliners…

 

Still a lot more than 2019 to be fair. The increase between then and 2021 was £20 (33%)

 

It think they’ll deffo try and get 6 big names, I don’t think they’ll shy away from not, if they have the likes of AM etc… who will sell a day on their own no worries anymore

 

They very much shied away from the “six” verbiage in the main this year…

Final note re: 2024. There was an awful lot of people wearing BMTH merch at Leeds, and not just on the Blink day. Most common t/hoodie by a mile.

I saw loads of Bring Me merch across the weekend too. I also saw quite a few KoRn tees over the weekend which was cool. 
 

Totally random but I saw a dude in a Morbid Angel tee on and nerded out with him for a couple of minutes.

I think it needs someone between Bring Me The Horizon and Nothing but Thieves. I like NBT but I think they're more at a Truck Festival or Y Not headline level than getting elevated to satisfy Reading's co-headline thing.
