Finsbury is 40,000, innit?

45 so basically

I thought it was over 50k tbh.

Certainly for some reason I thought more were there when I saw Arctic Monkeys there in 2014. But apparently that was 40,000 a night. Though in retrospect I think they could've done Wembley on that tour cycle and might have preferred it given I don't especially like Finsbury's acoustics.

I've had mixed experiences there. Highly dependent where you are in the crowd I think

Been 4 times. Rage Against the Machine free show in 2010, I don't remember that well as the crowd was just nuts so surviving the mosh was the main priority. But I remember being disappointed by AM 2014, and thinking both QOTSA in 2018 and Pulp in 2023 had the same lack of loudness issues.

I admit it's a slightly strange place to be in to want it to be louder given I've had to wear earplugs at gigs ever since I was about 19/20, but still.

Awful for me which is expected buy I'm not sure Idles are going 3rd down now after headlining Other at Glastonbury. I reckon they could be second down with co-headliners.

Not saying it's massively ambitious or wrong or way out or whatever, but f**k me that's dreadful.

That said, weekend ticket worth it to see Heriot on BBC Introducing

Aye awful, yet a very good, realistic prediction

thank you, never said the lineup was any good haha. i just wanted to be realistic and see how close we can get rather than be silly and do the most stacked unrealistic lineup predicitions

And should clarify its awful for me, sure it would be great for many.

There would not be one end of the night I'd be looking forward to on any stage, in fact bar Chappell Roan none of the top 6 on main stage appeal in the slightest but would for many.

My 11 year old just went to see Meghan Traynor the other day too! I assume she'd be there as an irony type thing for the 16 year old girls

I'm completely out of touch with modern music, half the names being bandied about in aghast they're now headlining size (even if they aren't, but are still in discussion).

Since 2021s return, and the start of 6 HLs, we've had 4 years now, and they seem to fit a certain flow, so it does some to follow a pattern which can be used to predict.

Older Indie:

Liam Gallagher > Arctic Monkeys > Foals > Liam Gallagher

Newer Indie/rock:

Catfish atB > Bring me the Horizon > Sam Fender > Catfish atB

Older Rock:

QOTSA > Rage Against the Machine > The Killers > Blink 1

US Chart:

Post Malone > Megan the Stalion > Billie Eilish > Lana Del Ray

UK chart

Stormzy > Dave > 1975 > Fred Again

Random filler:

Disclosure > Halsey > Imagine Dragon > Gerry Cinnemon

So maybe:

Olivia Rodrigo (US chart)

Foo Fighters (Old Rock)

Strokes (Old Indie)

Central Cee (Brit Chart)

Hozier (Newer Indie)

Chase & Status (Random filler)

Someone in the glasto thread mentioned that Chapelle is exclusive to R+L, has that been discussed on here? Only post I can see is the one that mentions her and Hozier

nobodys mentioned she is exclusive, would be big if she is.

i certainly expected her to be there though, especially if the slot is as high up as has been rumoured

She won’t take anything but a v high slot, she’s drawn HUGE crowds at US festivals this summer, I suspect assuming an exclusive (not just festival) she’ll be top 2 without a doubt.

Otherwise she could easily play her own shows and make more money
