Just got home from seeing Enter Shikari for the 18/19th time and they are the best live band in the world and I’m certain they will be at R&L this year. The dream is they headline Chevron but I know they aren’t big and popular enough for that, so I think third/fourth down main or headlining R1 is more likely for them.

I'd say Enter Shikari are more popular and relevant than Prodigy with the current market.

I get Prodigy WERE bigger in the grand scheme of their career, but their last hit was over 20 years ago, and their prime was almost 30 years ago.

But to counter my own point, those of us early 90s babies who had Enter Shikari as a soundtrack to our mop haired youth are now dying off at festivals, and our joints ache to much so we just want to find a nice seat at the main stage, or family friendly R1 stage.

Has KSI been sounding off again? Skipped the boxing, not my cuppa tea.

My mate is in Doha, he's a boxing journalist for an SSN affiliate. He covers music journalism in his spare time. He spoke with KSI in Doha and asked about what he has coming up, KSI said about who they have booked etc, he was asked too (didn't say he's doing it, said its a surprise). My mate won't tell me but knows I fell asleep and missed Em in 17 and a big fan of Postie. Said they'd been trying to get TS for a while but that's unknown too. Chappel and Hozier are "co-headliners" under what was going to be Foos.

I'm going out on a limb based on what I've heard and saying

Eminem | Travis Scott | Foo Fighters

Central Cee | Post Malone | Chappel Roan & Hozier

Nah, I don’t agree with this. You’re average attendee will know more Prodigy songs than Shikari. I don’t think your average youngster would recognise a single Shikari song, whereas they would definitely know at least Firestarter.

Prodigy packed out the Chevron too something chronic. Shikari wouldn’t get that reception.

That feels INCREDIBLY strong, too strong if I'm honest for 2025 standards. Also 4 rappers (if we count Postie) is quite a lot for one year.

If true tho would certainly solidify them having the best UK lineup for next year.

I kind of feel your point, but Prodigy was the music of Ibiza and hard-core German EDM clubs 25 years ago. Those guys are pushing 50 now. Firestarter, Omen, Smack my Bitch Up are more or less known because they're put on FIFA games.

There are more people at the festival that grew up with Enter Shikari as part of their throwback years than Prodigy.

Completely different genre and size but I'd compare it to Rage Against the Machine vs Biffy Clyro. RATM is absolutely bigger and are a far better booking, but Biffy would get a better reaction from the generic ticket buyers as someone they grew up with against their dad's music that got an Xmas number 1 somehow.

That would be incredibly strong if they got them 7. You’d imagine we’d be looking at a sold out festival within a month or two.

I’m 26, my friends and I know plenty of The Prodigy but only one or two ES songs. Not saying I speak for everyone my age bracket but the Prodigy definitely trickled down to teens in the 2010s, potentially from parents clinging to their youth.

I’m 25 and I know 2-3 Enter Shikari songs, have 0 CD Albums. I have 2 CD album of Prodigy and know several more of there songs so I also attest to this. I have seen Shikari more times than Prodigy live tho - I chose to see Blink last year at Leeds over Prodigy so do want Prodigy to return selfishly 😂

no bloody way posty is a second down headliner

Beat me to it

Absolute bollocks Post Malone doing the second headliner slot.

He's headlined twice properly and is certainly no smaller.

You don't help yourself Chad.

Most younger people at R&L don't give a sh*t about Enter Shikari - no way would they beat the Prodigy's completely overspilling crowd. Not even close.

This just doesn't make sense

If they have Eminem, Travis Scott, Foos, Chappell AND Post Malone they don't need hozier to co headline 😂

Edit: Also complete departure from old booking policy - 4 rappers and no indie acts...?

I didn't say YOUNGER people. I said early 90s who had Enter Shikari as part of their youth playlist. They still attend the festival, and will buy tickets en masse to see that band they used to love.

A lot of your age know Prodigy because of games like FIFA resurrecting them and dragging it into the public zeitgeist. Enter Shikari never had that resurgence and got left behind when acts like Arctic Monkeys and Courteeners dominated the market. They're still a band that a section of 30+ know and love because they were our first moshpit indie band.

I saw the RHCP thing on profile, made me laugh. FR need to give us the lineup, we’re approaching page 116 too 😂

There isn't a booking policy on what acts they have. They go for what is popular, big, and appeals to a wide array of ages and groups.

And Hozier is a glorified 3rd down. Someone leaked that bit of info about 40 pages back (the one that gave us the Chappel and Hozier 2nd headliners info initially).

Where did i say you said younger people?

I know that people like Enter Shikari - plenty of younger people do too. The festival is generally people under 30 however who don't listen to rock music - not sure if you've noticed!

The Prodigy did so well because they are dancey for the most part I think (also got an arsenal of bangers / generally legends). Not sure one average song of theirs being on fifa had that much to do with it honestly.

Of course theres a booking policy. You literally described their booking policy ffs - how can you say there isn't one 😂

Seems very unlikely they go from 4 indie headliners to 0 in one year.

I don’t think the lack of Indie headliner is much of an issue, you’d assume, as it is still majorly popular, they’d then stack the undercard with smaller indie bands. Wouldn’t be surprised with Last Dinner Party under Hozier, Wunderhorse main stage etc.

Think the 6/7 headliners are pretty massive, and think Posty would probably suit a penultimate slot more if I’m honest.
I can see those 7 being true, it’s caters to the current climate, and I assume the undercard will give the big fill of Indie/Dance especially if Bicep are on chevron
