2025 R&L Festival

Would be a short headline set if Chappell is actually headlining, won't it? Although I guess she could release more music before August, not in the loop if she is recording anything

Her festival shows are 1hr 10 now. Her headline shows longer. She is currently teasing a new album which is believed to be done and she has performed a song on SNL in the states and a couple others which she performed on the festival circuit this summer.

Yeah, ditto the above. She will have new material by then to add to her set. I think she could put on a solid 80min headline set. That’s about as long as Kendrick played, I believe.

Based on Clashfinder, which I know isnt gospel, Kendrick played 75 minutes. Cant see that length set being an issue for Chappell especially come next summer.

The issue being, it's kind of like the Megan The Stallion booking, she has 2 songs in the UK but she did have a full set of album songs. It's just nobody knew them here, save for a handful of super fans that know every word to every song. At the time we said she's got a year to bring out new material, but in the end she didn't.

 

It's a weird outright headline booking when the crowd only know Pink Pony Club, Hot to Go, Good Luck Babe, and the other 80 minutes are listening to tracks they don't really know.

 

Headliners really should be the act that can point a mic at the crowd for any song, and the whole crowd chants the lyrics in unison.

 

I hope she does bring out new hit material here, because she sounds a cross between Paramore and Charli XCX, but at this exact moment, both of those are more deserving of a top 3 spot.

She will bring in day ticketers like Lana and the crowd will know every word to every song. She’s one of the hottest bookings of 2025 and will translate fine being a headliner.
 

There’s also Red Wine Supernova and Femininomenon that casuals will know as well as the three massive bangers you’ve mentioned. That’s without all of the singles she was have on constant rotation on Radio between now and the festival.

Totally agree, Chappell 100% will sell lots and lots of tickets on her own merit. Which was the downfall of Megan, she didnt sell near enough tickets for their to be enough superfans in the audience for the amount of album tracks she played. However, I personally did enjoy her set and had a good time with it.

Everyone I know my age and a large majority of my students seem to know the whole album like the back of their hand (me included). She is going to dominate Spotify wrapped ,not that this should be an indicator of a booking, i.e Sza at Glasto. 
 

Ticketmaster queue of 60-70,000 when I tried to get her London tickets in September.

She’ll draw one of the biggest crowds we’ve ever seen at R&L, like Lana last year and Billie Eilish 2019. Could easily be a contender for the biggest.

Wasn't there a thing that her crowd at Lollapalooza in Chicago earlier this year was one of the biggest to a single stage at that festival?

There was indeed, it’s got a 110,000 daily cap but they didn’t specify how big her crowd was exactly, just that it was a record breaker.

I would be down for this. Travis and Jungle clashing would be frustrating, a bit like Prodigy and Blink clash this year. Would love to see Little Simz there

You focus way too much on who has sold the most singles or albums. That does not always translate to festival crowds. As evidenced by the images below of her Lollapalooza set, she can absolutely pack a field out.

Queue the response of ‘That’s the USA, not the UK.’ The popularity of these massive pop artists translates over here just the same as it does over there. Look at Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, Rhianna, Beyoncé etc etc. A massive long line of female pop stars who are just as big either side of the Atlantic. It just so happens that her first summer of playing big festivals was over there and not here because the result would have been the same.

The hardest I’ve ever struggled to get tickets has been these big U.S stars. Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter was a huge pain.

 

Didn’t manage Chappell, refused to pay 130 for Olivia Rod.

Think its stupid that its often the same people who complain about new bookings not proving they are "big enough" that state R&L arent booking current names.

 

Not saying thats you Chadderz because we know you don't listen to current music but im taking about others on here and socials.
