It doesn’t matter, she’ll draw in the masses who genuinely like her and an awful lot who just want to see what all the fuss is about.

They’d also booked Eilish for mid afternoon on the R1 before she took off, Chappel Roan is already there. Ironically she played Manchester Academy last month after playing to record crowd at Lolla, just demonstrates the trajectory of the last year.

Megan The Stallion broke the record that evening for largest ever Lollapalooza crowd. Last page everyone was slating her on here for being a completely different ballpark lesser booking than Chappel.

Hopefully a decent guitar band against either Eminem or Travis Scott (or both, ideally). I find the prospect of no big guitar band headlining one of the days disappointing for myself, so hope that they do put something guitar based up against the rappers on R1 stage.

I know he’s not really much of a rapper but he’s rapper adjacent (even with that country album) and I can’t see them having him + Travis/Eminem.

 

Would love it though, “I had some help” has been very popular in our house.

Whoever clashes with Eminem I'll be seeing Eminem. Whoever clashes with Travis I'll be seeing the other clash.

Yeah I’m really hoping there’s someone decent during Travis, I’ll see him in a pinch but would rather they chuck Franz Ferdinand on a smaller stage at the same time.

 

I’ll 100% be seeing Chappell and Eminem.

Same here, Eminem is a bucketlist act for me, Travis not so much so I'm hoping they've got a really solid rock band to clash with him

Just watched a few clips of Travis on his latest tour and he falls into the category of rapper who end up feeling like their own hypeman when performing live. Seems to let the backing track do most of the heavy lifting whilst he jumps about with flashy stage production. (I know this criticism has been said about Eminem though)

Tbh I hope not. I would love to see Eminem and Travis, I don't want a band I'm into clashing with them and causing a dilemma

I just have no interest in Eminem or Travis, so if there is no decent alternative up against them, I think I’d just go with a day ticket for Chappell rather than a weekend (unless there’s some really good / unique stuff further down the undercard, but most of the time I have seen everyone that piques my interest within the last year / will see them within a year).

I think her 2022 set was probably one of the worst I’ve seen at Leeds. Will admit that she wasn’t my cup of tea at the time (and she still isn’t, tbh), but I would still probably see her again when she inevitably reappears at R&L as I don’t mind some stuff off of Brat.

She definitely seems out of the running this year with her doing Parklife, and I think a few of us are definitely thankful for it. I haven't seen her in 2022, but I have heard it was bad. I would only see her to say I've seen her after she got popular, not a case of I'd want to see her 😂

Not bring rude, but being your age, is that to do with the fact you were like 5 when he put out his last decent thing, and everything since then that you grew up around were trash put out by a tired and irrelevant man?

 

I only ask because I'd say my friend group (31 - 40), seeing Eminem is something we'd travel halfway across the country, because he's so iconic in our youth.

That’s pretty much spot on. I’m only 24 so definitely missed the boat with him and haven’t really had any interest in going back and actually getting into him as I’m not too keep on rap anyway. I do know people my age who were really into him during secondary school but I assume that was due to music taste being passed down by an older sibling / parent. 
 

My goal for 2025 is to broaden my music taste by listening to genres I never would listen to now, so maybe one day I’ll get round to properly delving into his stuff, but yeah I definitely won’t ever have that same attachment you do

I hear you on that except I saw her in 2019. She was dreadful. However, her live shows look awesome now. Tbh I don’t care if people are lip syncing these days as long as the show is good (which Eminem isn’t, hence my aversion still).
