to be completely honest, what will occur on Thursday on social media will be the inevitable, "This used to be a rock festival", and the problem is that unless they somehow booked BMTH, it'll be looking more like wireless than that. Personally, if they have got Travis as the replacement for the Foo Fighters that's excellent regarding the speed at which that had to be done, but Dave Grohl shagging about has thoroughly f**ked up what was probably going to be the Rock Day when they played.

We knew it was happening, though it's official now that R&L has now turned into V Festival.

Gotta go with the times. But gotta think who available. And are you lot gonna buy a weekend ticket to see foo's. Again. They might stack the rest of line up with guitar. Plus are we not still thinking one more headliner short. Bring me maybe ?

I can’t see it being anything other than Wireless 2.0 with a few guitar bands sandwiched in sticking out like a sore thumb. With an up and coming rock band like Spiritbox there this year it wouldn’t surprise me if they shove Bad Omens between someone like Becky Hill and Chappell Roan, it’d be a very R&L thing to do.

Slightly related question: if my friend has a campervan ticket, am I able to pitch a tent next to their campervan or do I also need to buy some kind of special ticket?

We just pile 10 people in the camper at wetherby service station then get out and pitch tents asap before they park another camper next door. Get all ya ground mats out before the next camper comes. Then go get ya bands from brown camper box office. This is lead festival based. We've done it for 10 year

Yeh think ya could be right. But Eminem to big for a wireless and chapel Roan isn't wireless. So deff gonna be a different demographic. Plus wireless usually very weak apart from headliners. I only went for playboi carti one year and cardi b the next. The rest just trash on backing tracks. I think this might sell out. If this news we have is correct..kids are gonna love it

i can say that Wireless is probably the worst festival I've been to crowd-wise, apart from Reading, but that Friday at Wireless, when Carti headlined, was excellent imo, apart from Ice Spice who was 25 minutes late and only played 3 songs, but there were circle pits that day too😂

And lil uzi vert canceled. Had fun telling all the young uns he'd bailed. Bearer of bad news aha or that might have been different day. The sound on ice spice was terrible. Rapping over there rapping track. Haway man. But metro bringing future out. Enjoyed that aha

I think we are in with a possibility of having the strongest lineup for 2025. Big statement but the bar isnt very high.

I’ll be going regardless to spend a weekend with my mates but my expectations are low this year. Looking back, even 2024 was very meh, although the R1 tent was shut.

I have faith (albeit little), they seemed to turn a corner last year and hope they continue in the right direction.

Muse

Chappel Roan

Travis Scott

Biffy Clyro

BMTH

Charli XCX

"Special Guest": Central Cee

Chappel twice seems a bit unlikely

2024 was the most fun I've ever had at a festival with all the wind at Wetherby like 😂 but yeah, Blink was BY FAR the standout for me last year, but I have some from like 2011, 2015 and 2017 that long stick in my mind, I need one like that as it's been a while 😅

I'd do Eminem closing the festival, BMTH on the Saturday with a rock-ish type day and Chappell on the Friday, maybe alongside Post Malone or something? Heavily balanced day-splits and overall for those attending the weekend. Would certainly sign me up!

I'm lucky to get extremely discounted tickets, so I'll go anyway. I just don't want it, as you lot are saying, to be mainly all rap, and wireless 2.0

Muse, Biffy and Bring Me would be GREAT. Seems Travis is likely - does that now (unfortunately) rule out Eminem? I'd much prefer Eminem over Travis personally. Can't see Charli XCX doing it purely as she's headlining Parklife. Wouldn't be bothered for Central Cee but he's the right genre, as they've done the likes of AJ Tracey etc. as a special guest in the past so makes sense.

I reckon Charli could be a touch similar to MTS in 2022. Doing Parklife, Glasto & R/L

I can kinda see Muse being in the running. They are doinh festivals next summer and have yet to announce a UK fest. We know they won't be at Download and it seems unlikely they are at Glasto. It would be really weird if they just didn't do any UK fest.

Wouldn't mind that from a personal standpoint. I'll say what I've previously said in that their 2017 performance at R&L is what made me an absolutely huge fan of there's and would jump at the opportunity to see them again. Are we kinda guessing Travis / Muse / Chappell?
