Not every great headliner or musician has to be a "party"
However, at Glasto - if a party is what you're after - there will be many of them going on somewhere
Mattiel at Yes Manchester- very disappointed.
Didn’t have a full band, just keys and one guitar. Was really just glorified karaoke. She seemed lacklustre and as if she just going through the motions, painting songs by numbers. Been waiting to see her a long time and felt very underwhelmed , especially after seeing the videos of her on Jools Holland and Glastonbury. Very flat.
As a side note Yes don’t do kebabs anymore and have replaced them with awful soggy sandwiches, mine was 90% coleslaw. Probably put me in a bad mood for the gig, but anyway Mattiel was still bad.
Ok in labouring a different point, I think you're probably incorrect in that most people under 40 would generally be able to name more O'Rod, Fender and 1975 songs than Neil Young.
It's only opinion vs opinion but in this day and age its a moot point anyway because we have access to a magnitude of platforms to allow anyone artist we don't know, to be heard.
The bonus of any artist we don't know a lot about is that we can broaden our horizons and have a listen.
