gfa
The BMTH day has the standard undercard of the heavier day in recent years I'd argue. Shikari as a well suited big support then a splattering of other names. Not really my area of expertise but i guess it lacks an older name? Doesn't really what what your view is on their quality, I Prevail would play higher than Ashnikko who subbed 3rd stage at Reading this year. Chad888
Ticket sales going horrendously. A week on and we're still in initial release prices, nothing sold out, BMTH day hardly moving at all. These are going to he dirt cheap to pick up come next year. I wonder if they'll do the 2023 desperation tactics of "convince 10 friends to come and we will give you a free ticket for next year". I wonder if the poor sales are result of 6 to 3 headliners, 2nd stage headliners being displayed as big stage headliners, a poor undercard... Or maybe people are just bored of spending all that money to get pissed in a wet and rainy field in middle England, and the rite of passage vibe is now your Ibiza holidays, Croatian festivals, and Instagram-able locations. gfa
Andre is right - how can you tell BMTH is barely moving vs the other two days! Its all 1 tier price now i swear - It doesn't say early bird £125 or tier 1 £125? 1 hour ago, Chad888 said: Ticket sales going horrendously. Ibiza for gcse / a level right of passage lol. I've heard it all - it is beyond expensive. Most people I know did R&L or your Benidorms, Magaluf, Zante etc. Nobody goes to Ibiza aged 18 nowadays. The croatian festivals are mostly dance festivals with an average age more late 20s i thought

Andre91
I’ve come to the conclusion that BMTH can’t open their set with YOUtopia. It would be a right damp squib of an opener.

What insight do you have to ticket sales that nobody else has? I can't explain how it works as I don't understand the logistics, my wife's a marketing affiliates manager (I don't know what that means either). One of her clients is a big supermarket that looked at introducing a mobile phone network to rival Tesco Mobile and she showed me before that you can look at the entire online marketing space and see how much different companies are spending on certain marketing campaigns, for reaching a certain audience, and how much ROI they are making in those campaigns. I.e. I'm still interested in a festival but the lineup is meh, so asked her to do her magic and see how sales are going, whether they would introduce marketing campaigns to shift more tickets. Bit of a jumbled sentence, I really don't know how it works. Basically in the online space, whatever you advertise and market isn't private how much you spend, how much money you make - people like my wife analyse the data and develop marketing campaigns and advise clients to outbid on key words or avoid key words that other companies use.

I'm not surprised, I have spoken to about 40-50 people who usually attend between the ages of 21 and 50 and no one is going next year based on the line up and are looking at alternatives. A few of the young'uns in my office mentioned they are fans of Travis Scott and Chappell Roan, though none of them are willing to camp or travel to Wetherby from Manchester for one day. I’d put Dreamseeker/Youtopia in the middle if at all. Opening with Can You Feel My Heart last time was massive, but the current Final Fantasy Darkside intro would do it for me. foolee
I think there’s a lot of good stuff on there but there’s almost not enough for me to part with money for a weekend or day so wouldn’t surprise me if younger folk with less disposal income are thinking the same. Can imagine some younger ones deciding on different festivals or holidays tbh. You’ve got the festivals like Truck/boardmasters which are much cheaper now or for the same price as R&L you could go on holiday, I heard some possibly college/uni students discussing this the other day. Then I wonder whether the slightly older crowds are of the same view as me. I hate how the crowds gone so I’m reluctant to camp these days which means spending too much on tickets/hotel to justify it. The days are so jumbled that there’s not enough to part for a day ticket, would love to see Travis Scott and there’s only Amyl & Sea Girls that I’d want to watch that day but it wouldn’t totally surprise me if they all clashed. Would be down for the BMTH day as I love them but I’ve seen Enter Shikari a million times and I’ve either seen or will manage to catch anyone else I want to see on there day. Again the Chappell day is good but now I’m expecting her at Glasto there’s nothing wow or different that I’ve not seen or can’t go see close to me that makes me urgently want to get a ticket. But saying all this I’m probably just not the demographic anymore. It’s just a shame how it’s almost very good and they’ve good quite a lot of good bands/artists but it does feel like it’s missing something. The Travis day is diabolical for me, if it was the Sunday I’d go home early. There’s only Amyl and Sea Girls on there for me and I’m not that arsed about either. The other two days are doing the heavy lifting so far but for a first announcement they’ve really banked on Travis and Chappell Roan shifting the tickets. At £325+ punters need more than that. As we’ve said before the rest of the lineup is just the usual rotation of R&L fodder. It’d cost £150 at a superstruct festival so there no wonder people are preferring those.
