And yet Download still couldn't get them.

Owned by the same people - were likely saved for Reading/Leeds

Foos and Blink are Multi generational as with Muse I find there fans are 35-60 target only for the majority. Not saying they aren't massive but just not relevant to a R/L crowd no more. The festival has moved on.

Foos and Muse have a very similar audience age wise

Foos are bigger so it matters less perhaps, will sell more tickets on their own name.

Nah they probably wouldnt worry too much although i would expect Foos was who they were banking on to sell tickets so its less so a rock headliner they need to worry about and more so a headliner thats high in demand for ticket sale purposes.

That's also Linkin Park so, two birds one stone if they've bagged them 🤣

Far far too stacked

There's about 6-7 acts big enough to headline Chevron on there for instance

Maybe i'll eat my words but these Hozier predictions are getting way out of hand, who the f**k is asking for him. Kind of act that should be playing British Summertime for the picnic blanket gang not R&L!

Can’t see TOP doing arenas in May and then coming back to Europe in August. Can see Kasabian, Eminem and Charli XCX doing it. Could still see Foos tbh. Would they book SZA after the Glasto stuff?

Hard agree on Hozier. He was never booked high up back in the day and he won’t be now.

I mean LP are going to do that next summer, I'd imagine. 350k people in line for the o2 show at very short notice (you can roughly double that in terms of people who want to see them) is a lot of people who will want to see them and might not have another chance next year. They have almost 3 times the Foos monthly listeners on Spotify and both their currently monthly listeners in the UK is also higher than the Foos peak by a considerable margin (500kish).

I know but it's never been the case Download win the battle, not even a second year battle.

I think people forget how much of a staple for music and their era/genre they were.

Download don't win the battle when its one vs the other, but Download might already have been given Muse with R&L getting Foos

It would then be too late for this to change - Download would be annoyed and Muse likely would have made other plans for R&L weekend (they are also opposite ends of the summer)

So either way it's not a win as Muse are a soppy headliner for Download anyway. Soppy headliner in general now, another band without a decent record in years.

I was just explaining why R&L can't just nick them from Download if they already agreed to do that.

Didn't ask if they were soppy or not

Bit of a tangent but...

Anyone expect or would like to see Jamie T on the bill. Maybe a Gerry Cinnamonesque, just scraping that Reading Friday, early headliner?

He's such a weird one, impossible to quite tie down size wise... I imagine non existant with the youth thinking about it.

Got a massive crowd last time he played. May have been 2015 though...

I could see him in the Two Door slot from this year (third down) but not as one of the six headliners.

One I think could be a shout somewhere is London Grammer. Thought their set at Glastonbury was brilliant to headline the park stage.

They then released their new album which I personally think is really really enjoyable.

Cant really see them being booked as they dont feel very R&L to me. They were one of the 70 artists I got to see this summer and it was one of the most drab things ive ever been to if im honest.

Will check out the new album though

They'll be at festivals next year but not sure I can see them at L+R anywhere personally. Don't think they've ever done it, bit too muted and they're big enough to be trying to break arenas now (it's not going great).

3rd seems perfect, i don't think hes quite non existent to youth but probably not as big as an act like the wombats etc

No chance at R&L

I think the rumour was Linkin Park wanting to announce all their dates at the same time

Reminded me of how Mad Cool pissed off Arctic Monkeys by announcing them for it before they were ready to do an all-at-once declaration of their 2018 touring plans.
