Bagged some lcd day tickets for me and my daughter who currently lives in Bath. No brainier after last year, cracking little festival, great vibe and very chill security as others mentioned.

For those of you complaining about Bristol's outdoor shows, check out Sheffield. It's truly bleak here.

the best stuff in Bristol is the free stuff, carnival, and harbourfest - habourfest doesn't have much music, but its got that everyone out on the streets feeling, that Bristol does very well.

That's comparing apples with oranges though, plus as you say they don't really offer the annual choice of bands that the events on the downs do.

50 odd quid for a day seems decent compared to the price of a single gig, clearly as long as you fancy the acts.

My only hesitation personally is I've gone for tickets for Massive Attack the weekend before and it may be a challenge to do both.

Anyone heard any whispers for the massive attack support acts?

killer Mike looks likely as when he released some tour dates the other day there was a blurred out one on poster that looked very much like the date, Bristol , Clifton downs ha

presuming they will have a few acts though , think it was billed as a day of music when announced rather than just an evening gig

That is a lovely add on . Guessing they may headline 2nd stage so could be a bit of scampering around between Jessie ware and lcD soundsystem to try and catch a bit of all

Yeah agreed, they offset the times between stages pretty well last year and the stages are pretty close too back to back. We didn't miss much 😁

agreed , good for catching a bit of all, although I did arrive a bit late for apex twin after watching leftfield so starting spot wasn’t great. Normally pretty easy to politely filter through tho (if not in a big group)

Hi, just looking at getting tickets for this. Does anyone know if LCD and Jessie Ware are likely to clash or not? I'd like to see both

They're usually pretty good at stacking their two main stages, so you can stroll over and see the other.

Just bought tickets for the Sunday and was thinking it would be a choice between LCD and Underworld (unless Jessie Ware is headlining instead of underworld). Based on above posts it seems acts are staggered so it will be possible to see both which is epic news.

Hey, we're coming to the Sunday for some sweet sweet LCD, but being rural welshies we'll need to drive and park somewhere, seeing as the only official options are parking in the centre of bristol and bussing from there or getting an Uber, what are the actual road closures like? I can see there are various drives available on yourparkingspace, but don't wanna book one if I can't get to it because the road's closed!

I think a very large percentage of attendees either walk or get the bus, so when I've attended I've just driven the local streets, found a space and walked.  Mostly been ten to fifteen minutes.  The closures last year were very much the nearest few roads, so it wasn't too tricky.

If you see the area above the green on my map, the nearest streets are closed (just cones and friendly stewards), but if they aren't you can drive and have a look for a space.  I didn't go in the patch below or to the right of the Downs as that's where you get into retail territory which is much busier.

might be worth parking near one of the northern stations (Parkway&Filton)and getting the train to clifton.

Ah that's great, thanks both! I live a mile away from Greenman in Crickhowell so am well aware of festival traffic chaos (although it doesn't bother me cos I'm always on site anyway!).

I've been to various flavours of  festival on the Downs since 2016 and never had any traffic arriving or leaving - not least you wouldn't be arriving leaving necessarily at the same time.  NB I believe forwards did have some big issues with queues to get on buses last year but I dunno why

Just been to Clifton for Massive Attack and am thinking I fancy going back for LCD - do Forwards ever do last minute NHSy type discounted tickets? Wondering what the turn-out on a Sunday night at the back end of summer is likely to be like?

Turn out has always been good, but they've never had another similar event the week before such as this year.

Not heard of them doing last minute official discounts before, but would be surprised if there aren't some on offer on twickets or similar as folks plans change.

If the food sitch at Massive Attack is anything to go by, I’d eat before going into Forwards. Queues for the loos were insane as well, also there was no signal at Massive Attack all day for me. Still buzzing for LCD though, heard they were on top form at APE.

Sales haven't always been great.

In 2022 they had two for one tickets on O2 priority.

In 2023 they gave away free tickets to Friday for Saturday ticket holders as I got given one.

So it's not inconceivable there will be some reduced / cheaper ticket.

Phone signal is always bad at the downs unfortunately
