A lot of quality in today's announcement. After several years of doing Primavera Porto we decided to try something else this year and BKS looks very promising, especially being the same weekend (no need to change days off work plans etc.)

Should we hurry up with buying the tickets? Does it usually  sell out quickly?

As far as I recall, the only year it sold out quickly was the year when Radiohead headlined

Really like this year's line up, despite Disclosure being a mismatch with the festival. Don't think it will sell out, as it only did once as far as I know. There's still accomodations available (which I highly recommend), these would have sold out by now if tickets were selling fast. Now that both Lowlands and DTRH sold out fast, people might consider BKS though, same happened last year.

BKS is a great festival, if you decide to go I'm sure you'll have a good time.

Not a bad line-up this year and not too many timetable clashes for the bands/artists I want to see. It's still annoying that there's still only 4 acts on the main stage on the Saturday and Sunday. Having someone on in the 2-3pm slot would be welcome. Also some more acts on the Casbah stage with fewer large time gaps. In fact, a bigger 4th stage for bands would be ideal as it's impossible to see the Casbah stage when it's even moderately busy.

I'm actually very happy with the timetable. Hopefully we'll see Sofia Kourtesis at Open'er, so we can skip her and see both La Femme and Omar Apollo. Billy Woods vs. Justice might be a tougher decision, but in general it seems I'm going to have a smooth one clashwise.

First timers! Can't wait!

Had a great weekend! Still tired from Primavera and my feet are officially dead now, but really enjoyed myself.

We were sleeping at the safari resort, which was awesome. Giraffes, zebra's, ostriches and even a rhino were really close while we were having our breakfast. Hope we can get the same accommodation again next year.

On the music: day one was a bit dull as expected with only St Vincent being great. Didn't wanna go to Disclosure and based on the reviews that was a good call, as they just did a (poor) dj set. Day two was already much better with some Irish fun (the Mary Wallopers), the best Dutch band at the moment (Tramhaus!!) and a wonderful Slowdive set in the tentstage. Paolo Nutini wasn't for me, great voice but hardly any great tracks except for Iron Skies and a few others. Yesterday was simply awesome, ten out of ten. PJ Harvey probably gave the best BKS show ever (I've been to all editions so far), Justice was massive and really got the crowd going, Jockstrap was my biggest surprise as I only knew the few "ballads" and didn't expect to end up dancing, brilliant show. Also, Warhaus, Amyl and the Sniffers and Gurriers delivered.

On the festival: nice atmosphere (the weather helped, a bit cold but at least no rain), great tasty and fresh food and decent drinks (quite expensive though, a 0.4 liter beer is € 7,25 and a burger around € 12), audience a bit older than most festivals, but since I'm in my late forties, that's perfectly fine for me. Just a great place to be, but do bring some money as days get expensive when thirsty.
