forced out by the media 😞

LOL, she tried to sideline Morgan McSweeney (who's replaced her), ousted Simon Case the Cabinet Secretary, pissed off the other political advisors, the security services and half the cabinet and tried to bounce the treasury into paying millions for a pet project in Northern Island but its all a media plot.

It has been pretty chaotic, and she seems to have pissed a lot of people off...but yeah certain newspapers and tories and civil servants have been after her from the start.

So.. a reset...

I just felt it was a strange appointment in the first place as it allowed the Torys to spin that partygate enquiry was politically motivated. I just think it’s one of those jobs that you could probably find several qualified candidates, so pick a less controversial choice in the first place.

I quite liked the trolling aspect...and she was well respected and regarded....but it hasn't worked out. have to see how McSweeney gets on, have to hope he does a better job because it has been a pretty sh*t start.

The media didn't  invent this, they were briefed by all sides about the power struggles and dysfunction in No 10. The infighting was real and Labour are responsible for their problems since the election.

i used to be a resident of Bristol, i was placed in my current accommodation (just outside of Bristol) by Bristol council, my bus pass and blue badge both issued by Bristol have just expired, i cant renew them cos i don't live in Bristol, i have to apply new to south glouc council - but  cos I've moved i don't have the documentation they want with my new address on it, its maddening that Bristol put me here and then stop  helping. 😞

They f**ked up by supporting previous govt NI cuts.

They f**ked up by promising to not increase the main taxes.

They f**ked up announcing that pensioner benefit months before a budget.

They f**ked up with all their freebies and not having a coherent response.

They f**ked up appointing Sue Gray.

Basically, they f**ked it up.

All the tax raising possibilities for Reeves are looking more and more difficult.

Just stick up income tax, f**k'em.

There are reports they could be rowing back on the taxes for non doms and private equity funds and delaying the VAT school change. Today's Times is also saying they are backing away from changing pension tax relief.

The big tax raiser they have is freezing tax allowances for the next few years but that is starting to affect more and more pensioners who are already pissed off about the winter fuel allowance.

it's all stupid.

The Tories kept banging on about Labour putting up taxes, £2000 a year or whatever...and people still voted Labour.

They're going to have to do income, all the other stuff is too complicated. Keep bringing down NI, stick up income tax, unfreeze the thresholds, and just keep blaming the last lot and hope for the best.

Reeves appears to have worked out any pensions tax would hit the public sector the hardest. I guess she’s worried about strikes.
