Was just looking at some betting odds for the election. @Neilseeing as you’re so sure Labour will win Bristol central you should put some money on. They’re 11/8 and greens are favourites!

its less that i'm sure labour will win, than was thinking the greens won't, the locals have changed my mind on the greens chances.

will be a big error by the locals to  to lose thangham as their mp, she's bloody good,  but still being punished for having the bottle to call-out Corbyn's f**k -ups.

i see Abbott is still doing her martyr thing. possibly better for labour to not let her stand, she'll be a gift to the daily mail.

Now Reeves says won't increase VAT because Tories started to suggest she will. So another tax rise ruled out. What's left?

remove the capping from council tax, so councils can have more funds without it costing the govt.

Council tax so bloody unfair, that is a tax that needs reforming.

the rating system that preceded it was much better but had the same problem as council tax, of properties needing to be revaluated for  an accurate value, used for how much local tax they pay.

reforming council tax would be popular except with the people who lose out from the changes.

you would hope there might be room in the Labour party for folk who don't impress either of you (or me for that matter)

Sadly, there appears to be virtually no limit to how right wing you can be to win Keir Stalin's blessing, but heaven help you you if you show any slight symptom of Socialism or are mildly critical of Israel.

I am so glad I live in a constituency where Labour have no chance of winning. I would hate to be in the position of having to vote for these craven Tory Lite reptiles to keep the Tories out.

i've just seen that my favourite shop in Bristol has made a BBC news article

Businessman 'losing thousands' to shoplifters

before i recently moved that was my go-to place for lunch, it does a 'lunchbox' curry and rice everyday, a  lovely chicken or veggie curry (varies daily), with a heap of rice for less than a fiver(fantastic value)

having moved to the edge of the city, i'm missing places like this.

you mean the reform that was support by labour & tory MSP's?

Meanwhile, are you capable of addressing any of my points without your pathological hatred of the SNP seeping in?

i addressed it by pointing out that similar claims for money saving  have failed previously.

Sorry, so you are accepting that Labour's claim that they will fund additional police to 'take back town centres from thugs' by "more efficient purchasing of police equipment" is probably nonsense.

Just watched a clip of it, she looks genuinely shocked and upset. Maybe she should be Green candidate for same seat, split the vote and IDS can win another term,. Yay.

I'm actually more annoyed about this than Diane Abbott. I get why they want loyal MPs, doing this is hardly a new thing, happened under Corbyn, happened under Blair, but this seems a whole new level. One day this will bite them in the bum. There is so much loathing of Starmer on the left for what he is doing, and even further to the centre there is disquiet and unease, if he's like this now what is he going to be like in power? We live in a parliamentary party system, not a presedential system, and he is going to need that party to support him. When things go tits up, and they will, he is going to need their backing. As for voters yes they can afford to lose voters on the left or from various ethnic minorities because where these voters are, their coalition of support is now in places they need to win this election, but one day the Tories won't look such a bad prospect for a lot of these voters and are more volatile and willing to change support, and Labour could be looking at a similar situation to what the Tories are facing now, no one likes them.

I guess there is an assumption in Labour that they are going to win and they don't want to add any more lefty MPs..but they have all these angry people making noise and that's what people will see on the news...not things like reducing NHS waiting lists, but people complaining about how Starmer is running the party...so maybe shouldn't be making any assumptions at this point.
