I was surprised to learn that despite being the editor of ConservativeHome he's not even a tory member. He was on Politics Live earlier this week and proclaimed that if he was living in Clacton he would happily vote Farage rather than the tories.

 

Before the election was announced I was sceptical about a Canada style tory wipe out, but it's like Sunak is some kind of secret squirrel paid to destroy the tories from the inside; everything he's done since calling the election seems to have made things worse for the tories.

 

The D-Day thing is jaw droppingly inept, talk about gifting Farage an open goal.
