Seems they leaked something worse so it wouldn't appear so bad.

 

The personnal allowance freeze was wrong and there don't appear to be any changes to pensions/ISA's unless they are buried in the small print.

well, that only means more left wing than New Labour govt which isn't hard. Definitely a bigger state and a change in direction.

Those growth forecasts are a bit of a bummer though, they have to hope they'll out perform them.

A lot of this pain is because of austerity, brexit, Truss, and Hunt's NI cuts (and Labour promising not to reverse them), and it is not impossible that Tories are back in power because of it at the next election.

They should have just put up income tax, so much simpler, progressive and spreads the pain, Maybe Badenoch will in 2029 (or her chancellor, Farage).

Actually brought a tear to my eye en watching the first five minutes. Sunak has generally behaved decently and this was such a sweet tribute and first question.
