Netanyahu needs stopping. If this was happening to europeans (or israelis) the US would do something about it.

It happened in Bosnia ( the Srebrenica massacre was genocide), Dutch UN soldiers stood aside. Mladic and others were convicted eventually.  Of course the far left backed the Serbs and opposed NATO intervention in Bosnia and Kosovo.

the bloke is a mad man. He needs removing, simple as. There will never be peace with him and his loony govt in charge.

would just get replaced by someone similar - unsurprisingly, Israeli's expect their leaders to protect Israel and the people in it.

ok...western europeans (and scale is different...we're looking at 10s of thousands here, and it's been going on for 12 months)...and Israel is supposedly an ally, a liberal democracy that is supposedly better than any alternative. No wonder the world looks on and thinks f**k that f**king hypocrites.

Protect them by making more and more people want to destroy them and fewer people willing to side with them?

but if they did nothing they'd probably have been destroyed already, they ran to Palestine to escape those who would kill them, its no different if they face the same there.

in this time* of relative peace its easy to forget how much sh*t went the Israeli's way in the 70s/80s - the PLO; pflp, etc [splitters] - they're still reacting to that level of threat. even tho the situations, are hugely changed.

(*prior to oct 7th last year)

yes, but their disproportionate responses are just making it worse..they have pretty much made Gaza uninhabitable and killed so many, that does not solve this problem, and in long term who knows what will come from it.

Way I see it is at moment there will be no peace with current leadership in Israel, Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran. This is a regional and global issue that needs resolving that way, need countries in region...Arab countries, Turkey, and even Iran, to join with western countries and try and sort out a solution. Probably needs some other to take over running of Gaza and West Bank, maybe Egypt/Jordan, and security provided by UN/NATO/Arab forces. Needs to be loads of carrots and sticks, will cost a lot of money.

I agree but Isreal stopping unilaterally right now won't achieve anything. Iran needs to be weakened somehow, hopefully without starting WW3.

Iran already looks weak... Israel seems to want to keep provoking them so they can do a proper attack.

well if Israel go to war with UN we might have to pick a side.

Doubt it. Netanyahu could bum Starmer and Biden’s wives and they’d be all ’Israel does have that right’

Its bizarre the outsized power that this little genocidal country has. Its made a complete mockery of any supposed international ’rules based order’. Why would any country not just do whatever they wanted from this point. Why should China not flatten Taiwan and turn it into a big casino?

and not sure that school was being used as a school...not sure any kids are at school in Gaza at the moment...used as a shelter or Hamas base depending on who you want to believe.

everything is a Hamas base at this point .... when it clearly isnt in many circumstances

I guess there's some history and stuff.

More or less the same history as roma travellers. Why did they never get their own nation in punjab with which they could terrorise their neighbours as revenge for something that happened a few millenia ago.
