I'm sticking with there's no good guys or bad guys in this...just lots of civilian lives getting destroyed and one side being far superior (militarily/financially). steviewevie
and to be honest I couldn't give a flying f**k about UNIFIL...they appear to be just there without any real purpose...it's the people of Gaza that should be the main concern at the moment. Crazyfool01
so how quickly could / would Kamala start putting her stamp on things ? could any of this be coming from her ? ...... obviously if trump gets in it will be irrelevant ? does she get a say in the interim period between a win and her becoming president ? Kind of hoped they'd catch him alive and find out what his actual intention for the Hamas attacks was.

I think Hamas's motivation was much the same as Al Qaeda's motivation for 9/11: an terrorist atrocity of such epic proportions that to not respond would be unthinkable. This response would escalate into a war that pits the Islamic world against the West, and would ultimately weaken the West and enable the rise of Islamic fundamentalism throughout the Middle East and the Muslim world. Israel ceasing to exist would be an important part of that. Edited Friday at 03:34 PM by doogie

Did he want Israel to respond in such a way that Israel would become a pariah state even amongst its allies, that Hezbollah would react and people would rise up in West Bank and that Iran would get involved leading ultimately to the destruction of Israel? Cause he was getting quite close to achieving that. Or did he want Israel to agree to anything to get the hostages back seeing as they released over a 1000 prisoners (including Sinwar) just for one hostage in the past? I was listening about Sinwar this morning, he really was a hard nutty fanatic.

Yes. The reason the ayatollahs in Iran have been arming and funding Hamas and Hezbollah is to achieve exactly this.
