So Israel are using the reason for the bombing of Rafah that they were going after Hamas leaders...and due to this a fire broke out which spread to these tents. So whether accurate or not, there are too many civilians dieing, these were tents full of women and children who were hiding. Yes Hamas are c**ts for hiding amongst these people, but that doesn't mean Israel can be allowed to strike then anyway. Come on Biden for f**ks sake, where's this red line you go on about.

Apparently the ratio of civilian deaths to combatant deaths in urban warfare is typically about 9 to 1.  Put like that, the Israelis aren't doing that badly.

Depending on who you believe, the number of Hamas fighters killed so far seems to be between 8000 and 12000. If the total Gazans killed so far is about 35000 (according to Hamas), that makes a ratio of about 4 to 1.

i  haven't looked at the latest numbers since 7trh/oct, but historically the Israelis seem to clock up about 10:1  in casualties.
