lazyred
Wind generated more UK power than gas over the last year 32% to 31%. Also the govt decided not to offset the covid carbon reductions to meet future targets. I guess labour will stick to the sane decision. Nobody Interesting
Carbon Capture. A process the UK and so many others seem to have decided to rely on to help us get to 'net zero'.In Iceland this is a new CC plant. It will capture 36,000 tons of CO2 every year.To put that in context, in 2021, net greenhouse gas emissions in the United Kingdom were 427 million tonnes carbon dioxide equivalent, 80% of which was carbon dioxide itself. It's great that this plant exists but if anyone really thinks this is how we get out the hole we are in then I would think they need to think again. The UK would need almost 12,000 of these plants to remove the CO2 we create. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clmydee2grno

steviewevie
Climate change as an "issue" will be over once Trump gets in and pulls US out of COP...Tories will campaign to end net zero policies in a few years, as will other european countries. It will be more about adaption rather than prevention, run to the hills, or live in Manchester.
