ClementsMike
I saw Dexys tonight at Wychwood. In the first 40 minutes they played Tell me when my light turns green, Geno, Jackie Wilson Said and Come on Eileen. I was blown away. Go see ‘em!

How much of the show did they dedicated to unintelligible "comedic" waffle? I saw them at Bearded, and while yes the music was good, trying to tolerate the rest of it once was enough. I’d not seen them properly before so to see those classics was pretty special for me. Geno’s been in my life for 44 years.

Agreed, I loved them and it was the most fun set of the weekend for me. They could have dropped the skit around advice and fitted in another track or two but hey, I went not expecting the big hits and so can forgive them their theatrics. I have been annoyng my partner since by whistling, humming and Da-da da da da,da-da daing badly on the drive home today ☺️ 1
CR77
Anyone else gutted about the Dexys / Lulu clash..?! Will prob go for Lulu as it's her last ever gig... and can watch Dexys back on iPlayer (where as Avalon not covered by BBC!). Will be horrible to miss Come On Eileen though - should be a proper Glasto moment!
The Other Steve
The 2014 set was advertised that they would be playing their new album in full but a lot of the crowd didn't get that message so in between every track there were shouts for Come on Eileen etc... The 2014 gig was quite theatrical too as they were playing/acting roles for each song as I remember it. They were very good and I enjoyed it but kicked myself for not watching Bryan Ferry. Will I watch them this year...maybe as they are very good live.
