I even got caught sneaking a bottle of spirits into Roskilde Fest and the teenage security guard shrugged then let me keep it. 😂 The location this year is different and a bit further out of the city centre so not as many supermarkets nearby. But id perhaps say it would between 60 and 80. Im going to some danish fests in June so will report bar prices then; itll likely be very similar. 🙂 Edited April 9 by FrogLobster
BOBBY_FIRMINO
The Saturday bill is probably the best day line-up I've seen this year, so planning on booking three days in Copenhagen and attending the last day of the festival. Could anybody who's previously attended let us know what the drinking / bar situation is like? I know they have stricter licensing laws in Nordic countries and in certain festivals you have designated drinking "areas".

Ive been to a few dozen festivals in Denmark and i've rarely seen designated drinking areas; people drink wherever. Only exception is if its the occasional fancier festival bar where they serve wine and cocktails in glasses. I think it may have been Way Out West in Sweden where I saw designated drinking areas mentioned. Obviously a different country but was unsure whether it may have been a cultural norm for countries in the region

Duffs1
I’m also all booked for the Saturday night! Coming from Dublin and wondering what time the site closes? Will the Metro still be running early morning?

Copenhagen Metro runs 24/7; but they have been doing some temporary closures at times to test out the new metro line thats being added 'soon'. They usually announced these closures a week or 2 in advance. The venue location is going to be not far from where the new metro line opens up! But its a mystery when it will open; they have been working on it for many years and original prediction was early 2020. Obviously pandemic happened but a 4 year construction delay is quite typical of this city. I live central and they have been doing roadworks outside my apartment for 5 years with no end in sight! 😅 There is also the overground commuter rail (S Train) station nearby that usually runs until 12.30 or 1am. However they do tend to extend rail services later for bigger concerts. But as this is the first year for Syd For Solen at this venue im not sure what special arrangement they will have. As soon as I find out ill share some info! Buses run all night; just a reduced service. 🙂 Edited June 3 by FrogLobster

No, Uber does not operate in Denmark due to Uber refusing to abide by Danish road safety laws. 😄 The most common taxi service is Taxa 4x35. Although Taxis are crazy expensive. The good news is the new Metro line just opened so that would be probably the best mode of transport to use! 🙂 Ny Elleberg station should be the closest to Valbyparken 🙂
BOBBY_FIRMINO
Wonder what would happen if (god forbid) QOTSA are forced to cancel. Assume they must have some sort of back-up plan in place following their cancellations a few weeks back. Any potential names that might step in to headline? Karlos12345
Croatian promoter of the shows in Zagreb said the band is expected to make an announcement tomorrow. Also Lowlands is releasing their timetable tomorrow. So I expect a re-confirmation or cancellation tomorrow. Giving that the shows in Zagreb have been cancelled, the organizers teasing an announcement coming tomorrow could mean a rescheduling of the shows, hopefully for late August 🤞🏻 Edited July 25 by gigi21

BOBBY_FIRMINO
Jack White the new headliner. Gutted QOTSA have had to cancel but I love Jack White so happy with the replacement. Doesn't look as though he's played live for a about a year so unsure on what the setlist will be, hopefully it's stacked with White Stripes numbers and he's able to bring out Alisson from The Kills for the Dead Weather tunes

FrogLobster
Went to Day 1 yesterday to see Fred Again and the festival was a total disorganised mess. I am stunned. - Location is not exactly where they say it is on the map - Bike parking is a nightmare and in random bushes - Barely any signage to direct people to where the festival is. - Massively oversold - No actual space to sit and chill; lots of people leaving the fest to get some sit down space in the park before returning for acts. - Staff giving mixed info. I collected wristband (3 days pass) and they said I would have to scan it to leave the fest before returning on another day otherwise I won't be let back in. As I left the fest I asked a steward to scan me out and he said 'you don't have to do that; just come back tomorrow'. So lets see what happens when I return! 😄 - Queues for food/bar/toilets were like 45 mins to 1 hour. Heard that they sold out of alot of things quite early. - Big queue to fill water bottle. - Sound was dreadful. Could barely hear Fred speak in the microphone. - Screens are pretty small compared to other outdoor fests. - The 3rd stage (inside the tent) was dangerously overfilled. - Fred previously announced to start at 10.30pm, then the fest announced he was starting at 10.20pm. But then he came on at 10.30pm anyway. Maybe miscommunication. - After leaving the fest grounds there are ZERO overhead lights so thousands of people wandering through the park in almost pitch black. Lots of bikes everywhere so people tripping over them. Very dangerous. Obviously alot of this is teething issues due to moving to a new location. Last year was noticeably smaller (perhaps 2/3 of the size) so maybe they just scaled up and not sideways with the utilities/services when moving location. I hope the situation improves for Day 2 and 3. The 2 closest metros are Mozarts Plads and Kobenhavn Syd; both about same distance walk (20 to 25ish mins?). Original directions had the fest much more north in the park therefore I assumed it would be shorter. After the fest more people walked to Mozarts Plads, so I opted for Kobenhavn Syd instead for less crowds. Red circle is where the fest is and purple lines for fastest walking routes from metro to the park (then follow the crowd/paths to the fest). FrogLobster
Someone volunteering at the fest said on Instagram they had a sh*t time working it and said that apparently they sold 25k tickets for Thursday, 11k for Friday and less than that for Saturday. So perhaps situation will be better the following days? 😄
FrogLobster
Reports saying that Friday was much better due to fewer people. 🙂
mortand
Saturday was nice. No queues, plenty of space most of the time and the weather was perfect. Only downside was the constant yapping and chatting - especially during Air. I particularly enjoyed The Raveonettes, Viagra Boys (crazy live band!), the wonderful Air set and Jack White’s guitar assault. And being able to get home in my bed in 15 minutes. Although it took me a while to actually find my bike afterwards 😅
