Plenty I would take from that Roskilde announcement - Fontaines DC, Beth Gibbons, Electric Callboy, Faye Webster, The Hu, MO, Fat Dog. Just copy and paste them over here!

Beth Gibbons 😍

Not massively bothered about a Fender headline but Fontaines are one of my favourite (and one of the best) bands going so that's a big bonus, cheers Ken. Would be amazing if they closed out the Barn one night.

I think it's more likely that they'll get a high spot on the main - as high as sub (otherwise, it will be carnage outside the Barn, especially if they put them against a pop or hip hop name). Thursday would seem a strong possibility. I'd love to see them again in any case!

And I'm really hoping for Beth Gibbons from that Roskilde announcement.

He had a huge crowd in 2023..

Not really huge, was it? Also, that day didn't really seem to sell all that well, and he played 3rd down.

Not impressed so far... But a lineup is more than just the headliners of course. I would love to see Beth Gibbons off of Roskilde.

Fontaines and the announcement…

Only Fontaines from those three, means no Biffy (not a BIG surprise, but one can always hope) 😞

With Fender being the second announced headliner, I also think we know where the bar is set this year. Means another year of Måneskin, Dua, Lenny-likes. Don't think we should expect any fireworks on main stage, so yet a year of hoping that The Slope will deliver the goods.

Dua Lipa is easily bigger than Maneskin, Lenny Kravitz or Sam Fender. I don't think it's even close.

2024 had 2 proper headliners with her and Foo Fighters and those were the only sold out days at the end of the day

My son's singing in the shower is more relevant than Måneskin, but that wasn't really the point, and I'm not sure we really disagree. Dua Lipa is okay enough for those liking her stuff, but they all were disappointments in terms of what was "expected"/hoped for in advance.

We tend to think that the next year it will all be great and that the old RW is back in terms of line-ups, but those times are gone as there simply aren't enough of those major headliners around to put all in one festival. The level we have had recent years are therefore the one we can expect going forward, with maybe one major rock act each year. And that won't change ticket prices either as long as people is paying. Fender on a Saturday is great for them, as they know that day will sell out no matter what. The big error last year, was not getting anything better than Lenny on a Thursday.

Good point! We don´t have the same excellent line-up now as we did in the pre-Covid days. On the other hand, last year had plenty of great touring bands that Werchter didn´t get that showed up in the August festivals instead.

Hopefully they can dish out a great headliner for Thursday and Sunday.

Tbf, i think it’s more Ken wouldn’t know absolutely every act but knows Fontaines are playing

Didn't he just get pissed a lot? I remember being gutted he cancelled Sziget 2022, left us with Holly Humberstone subbing...

He's never been public with his condition, just that he has one, causing him to be shielded during covid. He sings about his illness on stand-alone single Alright.

Yeah I can't lie they're one I had my fingers crossed for, especially since it seems they've appreciated their stock is waning and sliding back down line-ups. (I believe someone had said that was why they had not been at Werchter for years as they were not getting the billing they were hoping for)

She is but I'd take Lenny, Dua Lipa, Foos and Maneskin over the idea of Fender and there being another less appealing headliner. I think he's booked booked out of ease personally. They had better options than him making in 3 in 4.

Should be remembered if they weren't there that Biffy are not big in Belgium
