Jack White is a headliner, or am I misreading his popularity?

If he does tour Europe in the summer, looks like a potential Roskilde headliner.

Subbed Pearl Jam in 2018 last time he was here I think. Although not sure how much his popularity has grown since then?

Communication and clearance from the agents. Intention was to announce Weezer and FF too, because it could improve the ticket sales (typical names that could interest the combi buyers). On the other hand, agent Mark Ambor was pushing to announce, was not in the original batch.

Thanks for the insight Ken. This is really interesting for those of us not in the industry 👍

Massive Attack announced for Pohoda, InMusic and Opener today. I also noticed they are playing Down the Rabbit Hole on July 4th so they are near Belgium during Werchter. Would be awesome to have them although I am not sure they would fit as a sub for any of the headliners or accept headlining the Barn. On the other hand, Pink subbed Rammstein back in the day😉

I'd choose them over any of the current headliners in a heartbeat but I don't see them coming to RW for yet another year, unfortunately. They could really save that Sunday for me. Their gig that I went to last June was as awesome as always!

Yeah, I have to reluctantly agree. It seems Werchter never book them. I just reacted now when they are playing every festival around Werchter during those dates. Very good live band though!

Massively diminished if this tour is anything to go by.

Think this is a purposefully small venue tour rather than being too reflective of his actual size/popularity. I imagine he could do arenas in the UK or at least something like Ally Pally in London.

Absolutely cannot do arenas in the UK. Biggest venue in the last decade has been the Eventim Apollo although he did play three dates in the end. Usually does academy tours.

That's fair enough, apologies for being wrong. Didn't realise if the smaller venue were by choice or demand, always thought he was bigger than there here.

Venues such as the troxy are 100% by choice.  You’re correct he could do Ally Pally and similar

Are the Apollo tent packages at the hive myspace pre-pitched tents or do you rent the tent and set it up yourself?

From what we saw, the tent hire Myspace packages are all pre-pitch. They're all neatly lined up and numbered. Someone takes you to your allocated space when you get there. I think new for this year they're also doing something where you can buy a branded tent/sleeping bag - sounds like you pick those up on arrival and can take them home after.

Queens of the stone age confirmed for electric castle in romania 2 weekends after werchter... so here's to still hoping

Where do you think they'd fit? They'd have to sub right?

They're also playing Pohoda the week after Rock Werchter.

But they're also playing all the August festivals they canceled last year, including Cabaret Vert, which takes place the same weekend as Pukkelpop, close to the Belgian border. So I see them much more likely for PKP than RW.
