I used those and feedback from a few knowledgeable folk to put together this year's tube map for the side of the Green Welfare tent. I think it's almost there. Anyone see any glaring errors? deadstillstanding
Yeah. The simplified/stylized tube map format definitely has its limitations. Really I should have another weeny little line going east from Greenpeace to Avalon, parallel to the railway line, but it's so busy already. There's too much to cram in! If I’m being pedantic I’d say Astrolabe should closer to Pilton Palais and there are other T&C stages missing, like Sunseekers. Mandala missing in Green Futures. New Terminal 1 stage by Carhenge, etc. Depends how much you want to squeeze in!

Don't think I ever figured out what it was anyway! There's definitely lots of liberties taken with distances – usually because of stage density – but hopefully this'll get people to the right approx area and they can suss out the last bit themselves. Green Futures is tricky unless I put in all the 'b roads' so to speak, but I kinda don't want to get super detailed, esp. in Greenfields. I can fit on Terminal 1 if I lose the William's Green label though, which I think is totally fine. Thank you!

incident
22 minutes ago, deadstillstanding said: Ah thank you. Tor View is now deleted. Don't think I ever figured out what it was anyway! It was a viewing platform/tower at the top of the T&C fields. Like the one in the Park, but nowhere near as high. The front of it was painted white, so that they could project some artsy stuff on it at night. I think it was only ever there in 2016, maybe 2017 as well but definitely not the past few years. There are all kind of niggles with this thing that bug me too. Don't look too closely where the curvy bits join the straight bits - you'll lose sleep! My major problem is I'm not actually a designer myself and I do it in PowerPoint lol which obviously isn't ideal. In any case, I think I'm done with it for this year - got to get the damn thing printed yet - but I might try fiddling with line thickness next year. If anyone wants to run off copies or T-shirts or what-have-you, you can download jpg, png (with transparent background) and pdf from here. If you find it helpful at all, please consider chucking some shrapnel in the Green Welfare bucket for iTHINC, the not-for-profit that runs it (and who I volunteer with), or, you could buy a raffle ticket to win the big map itself, which this year is hopefully gonna be on a shower curtain, so it's useful all year round! 4 1

Bin Fish
Just had to dig through some two year old messages to remember the one niggle I had with this amazing map. The line between the Crow’s Nest and Strummerville is misleading because there’s no way to follow the fence line along the top of the site, you always have to head back down past the BBC and the tipis before you can up to back up to Strummerville. And while we’re there I suppose Pennard Hill gate might deserve a mention? Apologies if this has already been discussed, I’m rarely on the forums until around about now in the calendar in a failed attempt to be less Glastonbury obsessed! (edit I made for mates in 2022:)

Excellent work again, I can link this on Twitter and publicise the raffle if that is any help. Where abouts is the map displayed at the festival? I know I've walked past it a number of times, somewhere near Greenpeace?

It's now public and the crew are in Pylon instead. It depends which you regard as more important. Public camping centrally, or on the outskirts? Definitely makes sense to have more camping options nearer to the coach drop off!

Thank you - coincidentally they were the first company I used for this map a few years back and my first one fell apart before the print cracked. Unfortunately the year after one wash did for the print so I went elsewhere. Could have been a one off so will give them another go on the back of this, cheers.
