I'm not even bothered by Glastonbury this year.

Just kidding. My God get me to that farm again!

An absolute slog of a year and I need to be sat in a field with a cider with not a care in the world! 🙂

I can't be the only one who feels the festival is a total reset; a digital detox, a break from endless doom cycles of news. My phone goes off as we enter the car parks and that's the outside world left behind until the Monday.

Absolutely. Had a bit of a wobbly year so far also and really not feeling myself at the moment. Can't wait to get there and let all my sparkle out again ️ Finally starting to get the butterflies knowing it won't be long! X

I have had a real shitter since Glasto. Lost my mom, my partner couldn't cope with that so left after 8 years, incredibly difficult time at work that has been really excellent to learn through but a real slog - but I'm hanging in and surviving and even doing pretty well. When I have put that last tent peg in I think I'm gonna burst into tears of joy! Get me to the farm!!

Bloody hell mate - hope you have a fab Glasto to make up for that.  Best wishes.

I'm in a weird place this year.  Normally I'm bugging the cr@p out of mu crew about the build, line up, travel plans etc etc.  This year I'm just a bit meh.  Think its mainly struggles at work and tiredness from a very busy few months.

Cant wait to get there and just relax for the first time in a while

This is my 30th year of Glastonbury - never missed one held in that time. However I do wonder if I should make this my last as I'm 51 now and not exactly it's target demographic.

Do you want to stop going?

Im at 20 years now (16 festivals) and might deliberately break the run just so I don’t feel obliged to attend every year 🤔

I kind of always said to myself that I'll stop going when I finally have a shite one or it defeats me physically. There is also the fomo bit I guess.

once you miss one it might not be so bad.

my right hand man for festivals is retiring from them this year - been doing them with him since 1999…he and his wife have got a baby on the way and they want to buy a house so he’s said this is it for now…what I do next year remains to be seen…I’m now married myself and the wife wants babies so my hand might get forced too!

Mine are 8 and 12 so it's still doable I reckon.

My Mum died in Aug last year and I inherited her cat. Tbh that's been more of a problem covering it's care whilst I'm off on festival duty.

I’m 60 this year. My best mate has been going since 86, and is 65 this year, so stop your whingeing! 😂

I’m 51 this summer, I think this is my 18th Glastonbury and I have zero intention of stopping anytime soon.. still feel the same as my first Glastonbury at 23.  So none of this talk of getting too old please!

This is the 1st one Im missing due to no ticket... but to be honest, I'm fine with it.

The line up hasnt really grabbed me, even lower down it - barring a few trump acts. I am struggling a little financially & probably couldn't have afforded it. I am going to Beat Herder in July & I am looking forward to that. The fact they did a payment plan (and it was over £100 cheaper helped).

When we missed out on tickets, I was gutted, but not as gutted as I would have been a few years before. Now, I'm fine with it... whether I will be in 25 dayd or so time - I don't know!!

I hope everyone has a mint time.

You'll get through it. It is possible. You just get to do it at Beat Herder.

Have a good one.

Since I left the gates last year I have started a new job, been served no-fault eviction notice, moved twice, bought a flat, and fully renovated it. Getting back to the Farm should hopefully mark the end of the turbulence (last bits of renovation will be complete by end of July). Life sometimes happens all at once I guess. Getting back to the farm will be a finish line of sorts.

To add a little more stress seasoning to proceedings, my partner didn't update our spreadsheet with our new postcode during the refresh nonsense last October - which was peak moving bullshit for us - so come ticket day didn't get a ticket where everyone else in out group that wanted one, did get one. Things are turning now as we found out this week she will indeed be on the farm - before all of us lot - and will be found dishing out pints of the good stuff somewhere.

Bring on the full line up, the clashes, the pitching, the first sip and the NFR NFC enforced policy.

Hi @FuzzyDunlop and @Yoghurt on a Stick

I got a ticket but I can't go...and I am most definitely not over it! The amount of time I spend looking at the next announcement thread maybe suggests I haven't fully realised I actually won't be there!

Still, I think everyone else's excitement is very infectious - and I will definitely have a big screen in the garden watching some of it. In what I can only assume will be glorious Glaswegian sunshine.

I hope you're both doing well!

Can't you get the ticket refunded?

Ah don't worry, I have! I didn't pay the balance. But handing it back was hard!!

(And something I had never previously envisage actually having to do! "What's that, a broken leg you say? Fine. Give me crutches!" Etc etc)

Don't worry, once we get into mid July the attention will immediately switch to the build up for 2025. 🙂

Not enough upvotes left but there is this huge 'thing' at the moment of people in their 30s calling themselves old and deciding that they shouldn't do x, y, z any more.

We are not old. My grandma started calling herself old at 80. She died at 96. That's old, I'll take that. But the rest of us are absolutely not old.

That made me a bit a teary - hate the thought of folk struggling.

You'll have the best week and a really good reset :)
