£12 would be on the cheaper end of the scale for a big meal.

Bearded theory was £12 - 15 for a main meal and £6 or £6.50 a pint and I think it's usually on a par.

These prices are making me wonder if there's a custard cream limit at the gate. How many custard creams would it take to sustain an adult male throughout the whole festival?

According to Google each biscuit is 59 Kcall

Amusing you go fairly hard at it for he 5 days at 4500 Kcal per day for 5 days

381 Biscuits should get you through

A diet solely of custard creams would also mean severe constipation,so less worry about dumping in the long drops😉😊

There is a bar or two selling San Miguel, which goes down well in the sun.

Cornish Arms and the bar next to Pilton Palais have good ale choices.

Brooklyn Pillsner is ok in its 4.6% guise - the 4% stuff is not ok.

that's the thing that irked me most, imho Brooklyn Larger is a very nice beer,  the Pillsner is just muck, such a shame that we didn't at least get both.....

Did they water the pilsner down to 4% last year then??

Bearing in mind their other offerings Carlsberg Pilsner, Estrella & San Miguel I am guessing we are going to get the pilsner again, which is a shame, as I would much rather have Estrella

I might be in a minority but I thought the Brooklyn was an absolute revelation last year, I don’t want a beer above 4% when I’m drinking all day and it’s so much better than anything that we have had before

Unfortunately - the suggestions that it's not good enough, whilst still being much better than anything we had before, can and do co-exist comfortably here.

Think it really depends on the stall - some were clearly taking the piss but there were a few (which I now unfortunately can't remember) where it felt really good value.

Yeh, I agree, I found some decent cheap options. The veg chili in the park for one, without rice but you get a tortilla, and there was definitely a v filling chickpea curry and rice on offer at the dosa place (near West Holts I think). I thought both were delicious.

Maybe £7 options are better suited to those ok going veggie though...

On the drinks front, some interesting snippets from the Bars page for beer fans. Hopefully this means a better offering than last year's Brooklyn Pilsner (Festival's Version) in a few more places.

Or it may just be same old, same old. Who knows.

That's probably including the Cockmill bar up by acoustic which has always carried traditional ales and stuff anyway - the general big stage bars have always had something pretty crap on tap sadly.

I think you have just triggered a horrible memory from last time I was able to get tickets for Glasto. I couldn't remember the name of the lager until now, but I do remember it being piss in a pint cup.

On the food front, and to add some much needed misery to this upbeat thread, I thought the food in 2022 was crap all round. Huge queues at all times and bang average or below average food when you get it, for hugely inflated prices way above even London prices. By Sunday I ended up just going outside of standard meal times and getting whatever had the shortest queue (even then quite long). The £6 deal is an embarrassment - no chance you could stay full.

I plan to do more altenative substances to suppress my appetite this time, and to bring a few blocks of lard.

Living on custard cremes for a week is hardly a balanced diet, get a couple of packs of jaffa cakes in there.

I was going to suggest crisps for balance, you need the salt too!

Surprised that word doesn't get asterisked on here. Considered by most to be more offensive than the supposedly obscene words

The £6 meal deal is really more of a snack.  The samosa place on the corner between other and silver hayes is my go to for something tasty at that price.

I agree 2022 was a bit of a letdown for food offerings, and the queuing was a pain, although the coconut chicken curry place in the BBC introducing area was so good I ate there twice.
