Agreed. If they do APE I can't see it being their only UK show. 

 

When they headlined Glastonbury in 2019 they also played Glasgow Summer Sessions & Malahide Castle and that was only 12 months after selling out BST. Their live stock has only grown since then and they 2022 UK Arena tour was one of the biggest in the band's history.

Bergenfest has announced Aurora for June 14th 2025, so she will be around for festivals... also Bergenfest is about to announce the first headliner, last year  was announced in October and was PJ Harvey who also came to Barcelona...

Their socials have said that they're announcing the Wednesday headliner too anyway so there's another name in the mix shortly

don't see Aurora in primavera 2025 tbh (especially considering that she has been releasing music since 2016 and has never been given a spot at the festival even when she has been active in europe during early summer) but we will see

I would keep an eye on the lineup for the Unsound festival located in Poland, which is currently taking place. There's always a handful of names that appear there and perform the following year at Primavera. It seems that part of the booking team of PS has a good relationship with the organizers of Unsound, or at least they seek inspiration there. This is understandable considering it’s one of the most important european festivals in the field of electronic avant-gard or at least non-commercial music.

Ireland isn't in the UK so they could still do a Dublin date or maybe add Electric Picnic in August. I doubt it though. I'd imagine they would do a few dates there and then festivals in mainland Europe. I'm skeptical of that supposed leak but we'll find out soon.

The reason I kind of believe the leak is it would be easy to just put a 7 day gap between the two Primaveras if it were fake but the specificity of The Cure playing in Barcelona on the Saturday and the Porto on the Thursday legitimises it a bit for me.  Also, The Cure playing All Points East vs BST to me makes sense considering their shunning of premium and dynamic pricing on their last tour, BST is pretty much all VIP tiers if you want to get close to the band, All Points East is one fixed price pretty much. And Ticketmaster isn’t the main ticketing partner of it.

I mean BST and APE are both owned by Goldenvoice. APE also has VIP. Plus, the last time The Cure played BST they simply removed the golden circle and it was first come first serve for a wristband on the day.

 

FWIW I don't think they'll play either BST/APE and just do their own shows in the UK. It's very rare for them to play festivals in the UK these days. Festivals elsewhere, who knows.

Those were more or less my thoughts too. The leak had the ring of truth about it with the slightly (but not too much) offkey details included.

Donald Glover just cancelled all his tour due to illness and he’s gonna undergo a surgery, so I guess he’s out of Primavera. And even if he decides to tour again, it will be probably to reschedule all the arena dates again.

My guess is that he’s not coming back anymore. I mean, why bother? It was already his last tour as he’s not very interested in music and is more focused in cinema, TV and writing.

Bob is the Cure manager... I think the only reason is if he wants or not play festivals. Since their last album, they always sell well arenas in any Europe City. But, playing Primavera as a headliner is a plus nowadays, like Depeche Mode did 2 years ago. With a new album, i think they are 90% in.

Jamie is releasing his new album after 9 years, selling a lot of tickets around the world about 40, 50euros (talnkig about Sao Paulo, 2000 tickets at this price, what is unreal)... So, i don´t think he will burn one year of promoting this album doing dj sets, while producing another XX album... So, i don´t expect a XX album until late 2026 or 2027...
