Primavera Sound 2025

I'd take her. In 2018 I chose Slowdive + Grizzly Bear over Lorde and in 2022 I chose to stay in a hotel bed with covid. So it would be nice to finally see her.

I did the same in 2018, but I saw her the next week in Porto. In 2022 I only attended W1. So, yeah, bring her back.

Here goes:

Reunion (Pulp slot): Portishead/MBV

Indie band comeback (Vampire Weekend): The XX

Older electronic band (Justice): LCD Soundsystem

Bigger Pop star (Lana Del Rey): Karol G/The Weeknd

Older rock band (The National): Nine Inch Nails

Newer electronic act (Disclosure): Bicep

Hip-hop/R&B act (Sza): Childish Gambino

Indie legend (PJ Harvey): Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Leftfield artist (FKA Twigs) : FKA Twigs

Leftfield pop star (Charli XCX): Robyn

Buzzy indie star (Mitski): St. Vincent

I think almost each of this predictions is not very realistic:
portishead-->no; she has just started touring
mbv: come on...
the xx: jamie xx is already nailed with the new album in the disclosure slot.
lcd: they are touring this year. I supsect they have nothing new ready so primavera won't book them
the weeknd: he is a good shout, but I don't think he really fits the vibe.
Karolg: I think some of them said she doesn't fit the vibe
NIN: they are not the national but rather depeche mode in terms of size; have they said somewhere they have a new album coming?
BICEP: they are doing a dj set tour. It's gonna be jamie xx.
Childish: nothing too special? Sza has released 2 landmark albums and met significant critical acclaim. He's not a this level.
Nick cave: if he's available they are booking him as a main co-headliner but they already have a date in barcelona so who knows.

Twigs: she is gonna drop lol
robyn: good shout
st vincent: in one year we will have already forgot about this album

The Cure 2025: I want to believe

You'd imagine nailed on for primavera or mad cool.

Tbh I don't hope for Jamie XX, he's fine don't get me wrong but for the dance headliner I would rather Bicep. Underworld maybe?

And how about hip hop artist? A lot of people spoke about Travis Scott for 2024 but I don't think he's right at all. Vince Staples just released an album plus Danny Brown is due a return

Which Hollywood actor’s side project can we expect, after Elijah Wood and Keanu Reeves?

Ryan Gosling had a band once upon a time, maybe an I’m Just Ken cover…

Will Smith replacing Morrissey in a reformed The Smiths

Portishead - Beth’s tour is insanely short, them and mbv are pipe dreams for sure, but both would play.

The xx have finished a new album from their socials and Jamie might also take the Disclosure slot

Childish has skipped Spain on his tour, so he’s likely doing Prima or Mad Cool

Bicep have a new album coming out

LCD are doing more and more concerts this year which makes me think something is coming

NIN gave an interview a couple of months ago to say they were working on new music

Nick Cave will probably do festivals next summer so I wouldn’t be surprised if he plays

The Weeknd has a new album coming out and he just finished a stadium tour, so might do festivals and his last two albums have been critically acclaimed.

I'm sure Azaelia Banks will go down well with her homophobia at a festival that celebrates inclusivity. Then again Roisin Murphy played!

I'd rather he play an instrument, to switch things up (not a huge fan).

Will Smith on drums, actor Matt Smith on lead guitar, Maggie Smith on keyboard (used to play piano), Garth Smith (original Buzzcocks bassist) on bass, and director Kevin Smith on vocal.

You’re the typical smug straight guy dripping with condescending misogyny who knows nothing about gay people or their culture, making statements about what we are supposed to think.

Both Azealia Banks and Roisin Murphy’s entire fan bases are gay men. Every gay guy at Primavera would be there for Banks.

She's a horrible person. She'll be starting fights with every act backstage.

Stop worrying about the horrid ladiez :.(

You know, plenty of male hip hop artists with extremely questionable lyrics play every single year, if you’re on the Mary Whitehouse thing.

She would be class. Shake things up a bit. She cant fly there with Aer Lingus though.

Dirtied her wheelbarrow with the ugly Irish women.

She’s made for that festival. People don’t want her to be some kind of carefully controlled corporate doll, they love her chaos and energy. She just needs to release a new album and stay focused.

Kind of all uncalled for this given you know absolutely nothing about me.

Roisin Murphy has been transphobic and if the homophobia wasn't enough for Banks then she's also a racist. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/music/2016/may/12/azealia-banks-suspended-twitter-racist-rant-zayn-malik

And my point wasn't about lyrics, it's about her general attitude as seen above.

Impossible to predict at this stage but there are rumours about songs of a lost world being released in 2025 rather than 2024.
Would the Cure play at glastonbury (maybe "final" somehting) rather than primavera, in your opinion?
Just fantasy speculations ofc
