The staging wasn't amazing, it was quite dark and you couldn't really see them that well. Compared to ConMan who had full visuals plus big energy. But the crowd was great, they were really into it so that helped. time for them to get practicing for next year!

Expand Depends, this year Primavera team was lucky cause there were these 3 pop artists that are both super popular and pretty decent in terms of quality, we can't guarantee that next year, specially now that all pop stars, even not very famous one, prefer to do solo arena tours over festivals. In that case Primavera is going to book what is available and what can fit in the festival. This year Sabrina and Central Cee don't fit in the lineup, but it's what they could get, so depends very much on the market. I would not close the door to more classic Primavera bookings in the future like Radiohead, NiN or even Arctic Monkeys and Bjork, but I would expect less and less of those in the coming years. Probably in some years hyperpop and all this pop thing is going to change and be replaced by something else, so maybe Primavera focuses on other music styles in the future, R&B, hip hop, asian pop, regaetton, indie rock or indie pop. diancieprince
for me, honestly, it's not a matter of genres or even generations, but a matter of inflation. Primavera sound stopped being an alternative or indie festival a long long time ago; nowadays, it's on the same level as coachella, which is the pinnacle of capitalism and the drive to make things profitable, over time, if you want to have the 6 most influential or biggest artists of the year, you will inevitably have to sacrifice part of the rest of the lineup and the prices will have to increase... honestly, as of today, it makes no sense to spend the incredible amount of money the festival costs if you're not going to see the big names that make it worth it... that's just how it is, and we have to accept it Edited November 25, 2024 by diancieprince

Flights were £160, and the ticket £120. Around £360 in total. I've just spent nearly three times that this year, and that's still sharing a room. Flights were nearly double, ticket was nearly double, but the real jump was the accommodation, which is nearly five times the price. And that's with somewhere that put their prices up by another £100 per person, the day after I booked! EDIT: Even worse, I just checked, and we got those prices as late as March! Expand Too much cost both for international attendees who have to book expensive flights and accommodation in Barcelona, and for local people, for whom over 300 euros for a festival ticket—especially for younger people (one of the festival's new target audiences)—is an enormous amount... Would you pay to see the current super famous pop trio and a handful of big names or legends (IDLES, Beach House, LCD Soundsystem, Clairo, FKA Twigs etc) ? Probably yes, but definitely not just for the undercard... Clakus
I'm really loving the Kim Deal album you know. The softer ones remind me loads of Yo La Tengo and the heavier ones are just brilliant distorted pop songs.
