MCR will probably do europe in 2026. Cant see them doing europe before the us and not announce it

I guess we'll see. MCR fans think they've worked out another announcement video is in their YouTube playlist for publication late this week/start of next, so there might be something. We just don't know yet.

So does anyone have any ideas as to who the remaining two logo acts could be if Linkin Park are definitely ruled out? Am I right in worrying that an underwhelming and familiar Die Toten Hosen headline slot could be on the cards here? And maybe Korn for the Slipknot day? Other than Muse I don't see any other possibilities unless they pull another Europe exclusive like BMTH

Die Toten Hosen and Volbeat are always a option, but since they aren't announced already it would be clear that they are a last minute replacement. The MCR guess isn't the worst in my opinion. A name that hasn't been thrown in the ring I could see is The Cure.

I think if it's anyone like MCR we would know. It's already known or highly suspected they got asked to play by Download and pulled out so they would have been around had they not. I'm not sure why they would pull out if they were doing a festival in Germany close by.

They were actually putting themselves around to do festivals in 2025 and 2026.  So guess it’s still possible

Yeah I really have no idea who the remaining headline spot could go to other than Toten Hosen or Muse. Anything else would be a surprise unless they bump A7X to headliner after being second stage last year but would they bring them back so soon? They are booked in Norway I believe so would it be a possibility?

Also there is 30 bands left to be announced they say. Are we expecting any decent sized names in this announcement or will it be mostly opening sized acts? Hoping for Jimmy Eat World after seeing them announced for Download this week.

Could be Muse too. They just popped out of nowhere. My guess as to why it didn’t leak is they probably thought they had LP but pulled out and RAR is scrambling to find someone as a replacement.

If its true that 75,000 tickets at the ring have already been sold, announcing a smaller 3rd headlining band when the first 2 aren’t exactly huge wouldn’t go over well by ticket holders, fair or not.

I'd have thought the fact Muse did RaR/RiP in 2018 and 2022 meant 2025 would be too soon to contemplate a return. But stranger things have happened.

Is there any realistic chance of Linkin Park being the last headliner? I know they have the German stadium shows but could they have possibly made an agreement with RAR to hold off this announcement until the stadiums sold out maybe?

(It's going to be Toten Hosen though 🤦‍♂️)

As much as I'd love to retain a glimmer of hope, I think the fact that there's 5 shows in Germany and some of them in very close proximity to RaR pretty much rules them out. At this point I'm expecting Korn to be the final headliner, the gap between Sweden Rocks and Novarock in their schedule along with them being bumped to headliner across the festival circuit just seems to fit.

I love Korn, but having seem them countless times it would be underwhelming as the final headliner, so I hope I'm wrong.

The days haven’t been confirmed yet but it seems like Korn are playing Sweden Rock on 7th June, which would rule them out of either of the TBA slots at Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park.

With A7X getting announced for headlining Rock for People a few days later could they possibly get the bump up to headliner for RAR in the last slot? I know they only played last year as sub which makes it unlikely but I'm clutching at straws not wanting a Toten Hosen, Volbeat or Muse announcement for the 40th anniversary at this stage.

Ah, fair enough. Hadn't realised that Korn was looking like 7th June. Appreciate the clarity 🙂 Now I'm intrigued!

Did they really need to defer announcing Korn given they were pretty front & centre for the Download announcement the other week?

That’s what surprised me. Unless they thought they had someone else lined up? But even so, bizarre. Built all that hype for nothing 😕 I’m still considering this over Download, mind you.
