NYC Downlow's new entry system

NYC Downlow posted today that there will be a new entry system. Anyone have any thoughts to what this might be?

 

Also does anyone know in past years, if you have an actual moustache can you join the re-entry queue, or do you still need a fake moustache purchased to go into re-entry later in the evening?

When we went in 2022, the fake moustaches got us in through the re-entry queue initially - this was whilst the headliners were still on I'm sure, so early doors, but the main queue already wrapped all the way around and along the railway line. When we dipped out to Maceos for a bit and tried to re-enter for Honey Dijon (around 2:30-ish maybe) there was no chance however. Security was a lot hotter on identifying legit moustaches and there were a lot of folk around us in a similar boat that got turned away.

The security guy between Maceos and backstage at NYC downlow was asleep so often last year I was tempted to sneak though and avoid the queue... 😋

I haven't been now for years as the queues are just too big.  However, I remember for the first few years, it was pretty easy to continue to use the same moustache for the weekend going through the re-entry.

I expect they would have tightened up on that because it is such a destination now.  I think it is good that they are going to try and stop people blagging their way in.

haha i saw him but he was asleep sitting on a chair that blocked the door! 

we'd have had to move him to be able to open the door.

Generally the earlier the better- when the main stages are on the queues are shorter. Assuming when Elton was on the queue was pretty damn tiny for example!

Having litterpicked literally THOUSANDS of little tiny f**king moustaches off the ground last year I really hope whatever the new entry system it is involves less litter...

Some of us used to just buy a pack of moustaches off Amazon and walk in on day one without ever queuing. Over 10 years that lasted 🤣

Can’t see why you’d be turned down 

spen is on at 1 peak busy time

If you get there for doors at 10 there will be a q 

but should get in no trouble

Cheers, that answers my question then! Don't really want to need to be there 3 hours early to see them - elsewhere it is! 😄

Just an FYI I'm 90% sure the guy going up and down the queue telling everyone "you won't get in tonight", "it's a 3 hour queue" is part of the bit.

I've never queued more than 40 minutes, I think it can get very long after headliners but it does move, so most of the time the protected queue times are rubbish.
