Lost Horizons - Your Thoughts?

HI All,

I know this has come up in that past but I thought I'd start a new topic so those new to the group would have to scroll through pages and pages to get some information.

Lost Horizons is one of those places on site I've always kinda wanted to get to but have never gotten around to, to those of you the go or have gone, what are your thoughts on it? Is it worth the entrance fee? and anything else you might like to share with the group.

TIA

I've been for the last four years

I haven't bought a pass for this year (more because I havent seen them on sale) and I probably won't get one on site.

it's a fun place, but the busy times of the day mean queuing for about an hour for a shower, and with everywhere else on site also being busy, the water pressure is a bit on the low side, so they reduce the amount of cubicles available to keep up the pressure, which just adds to the Qs

Last year I had four or five showers I think, and it was £70 for the full pass, so about £15 a shower, this year I have spent the same dosh on equipment for my caravan so i can shower there.

I did spend plenty of time there, saw some weird and interesting bands and performers, I havent tried the sauna though, so can't comment on that, but all in all, its a great mini venue, there is always room to just have a lie down and there are some covered areas if the weather turns, or is too sunny 🙂 but too spendy for me this year.

You can do that at the water taps 🙂

Yup. Someone before you invariably forgets their toothbrush which you can do it with. Just put the toothbrush back where you found it.

You need to live off the land where poss at the fest.

I’ve been, paying for a day’s entry, didn’t seem that steep for a pleasurable experience. It’s relaxed, a quiet little haven within the hubbub of the festival so I’d say give it a go. The nudity is no big deal, just an attitude, I’ve had years in Austrian ski hotels where the spa is compulsory nude. Families go. Old and young. No one blinks an eye.

Same experience for me. Been to German saunas and same deal here. Had a shower with no queue. Went in the sauna which is pitch black. People inside guide you to a space because you can't see anything for a few minutes. Afterwards had another shower and dried of in the sun watching a naked band. Surreal experience and glad that I ticked it off.

Thanks, that's what I imagined it would be,  but wanted to ask to see if expectation meets reality.

It’s lovely - a little oasis, some very enthusiastic naturists. One older man was absolutely delighted we were going sans cloth and said he could tell we were “likeminded people” - extremely wholesome, may I add, not in the slightest bit seedy.

Saw some nice music, had a naked sauna (the only way to saun) and a lie in the sun in the nude! Will go again this year if I have time
