Is it common tradition that we have all the headliners announced by Christmas Eve?

Yeah plus they mentioned in the comments that the remaining headliners would be included in the advent calendar.

Any last minute predictions for the final headliner?

Looking around, I think it’ll be one from Rise Against, FIR, LCD, Air, Sex Pistols, Scorpions or one of the Czech rappers that have been mentioned.

I have various degrees of enthusiasm depending on which of those it is haha

I think you listed pretty much everything possible. I guess local rapper in not an option, Scorpions are too old/classic (GNR took this already). LCD and Air are too leftfield and niche for Czechia, which leaves FIR, RA or Pistols. Given that RFP has a history of booking rather diverse heads, my bet are RA or Pistols. Or someone completely different who's not announced anywhere yet 😀

Yeah, was just looking at who wasn’t ruled out by being elsewhere that weekend (like KOL, Deftones, Franz Ferdinand, Massive Attack Etc) and were around headlining other festivals near to RfP. Suppose Electic Callboy could be considered depending on what day they’re at Greenfield but I couldn’t find anything to confirm that.

Electric Callboy are very unlikely. They seem to have an exclusive deal with another Czech promoter.

Pohoda festival (despite being held almost a month later) is also announcing something big tomorrow. They say it will be a "big surprise" so maybe it's the same name we are waiting for?

Aye, Frank Carter and Sex Pistols. Can’t lie, I’m happy with that. Never seen Sex Pistols, went through a phase of really liking their music a few year back and wanted to see them on this tour somewhere. Lovely stuff.

Bit disappointed on the final headliner, although I can't grumble 4 out of 5 headliners. That's a pretty high count for me personally.

Well, there wasn't many to choose from, was it?

I am actually glad it's not FIR or someone similar, I have always loved the diversity of RFP headliners. 23 with Slipknot/MGK/The 1975/Muse was my favourite :-)

Just my personal taste of not liking them. It's not a criticism of the organisers, they've done very well with the set of headliners and bagging guns n roses for a bit extra.

they definitely blasted the majority of the budget on Linkip Park... I've seen many people suggest this, and it's becoming more evident with every announcement.

Having said that, Sex Pistols should be fun, it's something new for me personally and Frank Carter is great live. So I'm not exactly disappointed, although I was hoping for more for the 4th headliner...

What other medium-sized bands are people expecting to be added then?

I don't expect them to announce many more medium-sized bands, maybe 2-3? But nothing crazy... the major names are out, now they will fill it with local acts and smaller up and coming bands.

That's pretty poor then imo, comparing to previous years... Coupled with the accomodation issues I'm having second thoughts about this festival now... Guess I'll just have to stay positive and head there with an open mind, but the line-up's not what I was expecting following that first announcement. I probbaly should've waited!

It's so poor they're almost sold out (50k cap next year). Don't know what people expected tbh, there's not that much around. All I see is yapping about lineups so don't really know which bands could improve it...

Never known so much moaning about lineups accross festivals. I think expectations are unrealistic from punters, especially as festivals have been declining in lineups on a yearly basis. Lineups are not going to get back where they were.

I think they have gone for the big hitters, perhaps more than in recent years. Which does impact the depth.

For the price though, it's expected lineups won't have as much depth. If you want that, you got to one of the big ones like rock am ring.

They obviously sold the majority of the tickets based on the initial announement... Sex Pistols with Frank Carter is not a headline-worthy act. And many of the announcements in December have left me scratching my head. The GnR thing was also very poor -- announcing it as some big  gift to the fans, then asking for additional money and claiming the concert isn;t part of the festival... very strange imo.

Let's wait until the full line-up is announced - maybe they'll pull something else out the hat!

Yes, day splits tomorrow.

Well, there will be a couple of smallish names announced with the day splits, plus another announcement in Feb I guess. At least this was the usual pattern in the past.

I think you’re totally right with the first bit here, line up expectations are totally unrealistic I think. People look at line ups 10 years ago and go “look at how they had (insert arena/stadium act in 2025 playing a small tent in 2015 because they hadn’t even released an album at that point) it’s ridiculous!?!?”

Contextually and contemporarily I don’t think they could have done a lot better really considering the price. This line up works out at £50, and they’ve got genuine big hitters in the likes of Slipknot and A7X who could headline Download, Graspop etc, plus two genuine stadium acts in Linkin Park and GNR. Bound to have a smaller 5th headliner and even then this Frank Carter/Sex Pistols is likely a one and done catch-us-whilst-you-can type thing. Plus, absolute big bands down the line up headlining smaller to mid fests in Biffy, Idles, Fontaines, Kneecap, and then they’ve also got the likes of Spiritbox, Lorna Shore, The Ghost Inside etc who whilst they aren’t necessarily my thing are absolutely primed to be a headliner at these sorts of festivals in a couple of years. Will definitely be able to have a great time over the weekend with acts like Circa Waves, EODM, Arrows In Action, Archers, Creeper, Rival Sons, Jerry Cantrell, Awolnation, Dead Poet Society and a couple more I’m forgetting.

I think it’s fine personally, but I know that’s just my opinion and it works for me. Considering the price of some festivals these days I think it works out alright and it’s worth it, but I am planning on staying in a tent nearby and should be able to get relatively cheap flights.

I think on the Insta post with the clue they said “a few more presents at 2pm” so imagine it’ll be then when the day split poster comes out with the smaller acts
