It was always said the bands reached a separate deal with the BBC. In 2013 it was reported the Stones wanted to show 4 songs and then allowed an hour after negotiations.

When did it change so the BBC rights were part of the festival contract?
If they whack Sabrina on the Saturday and Charli XCX on the other against the 1975 on the Friday this mid 30s straight man will have three nights in a row of alt pop queens... and absolutely love it
I think he's being a bot of a self indulgent bell end. he cant get what he wanted ... he must always get what he wants, so I am going to pull out .. then complain on line and stamp my feet as I didn't get what i wanted,
fair enough, if you don't get what you want pull out , leave it at that. why attack the festival , he wasn't even announced. he is being like a child stamping his feet , good riddance
They will surely want at least 1 major act that appeals to all ages that is well known with a great back catalogue that can get the whole field singing along and won’t look too sh*t on tv. Last few years have had Macca, Elton and Coldplay. I don’t count 1975 or Olivia Rodrigo in that company least of all Charli XCX or Sabrina Carpenter- none of whom I could tell you what any of their songs are or sing along to - I’ve listened to Brat and was not particularly impressed to listen again. Have no idea of any of O-Rods and whilst I have seen 1975 at Glastonbury am not sure I can tell you much about it. To be fair I mainly listen to 6music and don’t do Spotify or anything so maybe not in tune with the current pop stuff. Taylor Swift on the other hand - I have all her albums 😀
i did see Neil Young in 2009- he was great that year but I wouldn’t have gone to see him again next year particularly.
there a few options left if they haven’t already been exploring them. Am hoping Emily gets her little black book out and calls in a favour 😀
