A more lighthearted thread to offset what seems like loads of negativaty in the last few days.

Anyway, i'm a terrible nerd and 'gamify' pretty much every possible aspect of my life, and step counts is one of them, so here is my data for this years festival:

120km/70 miles stomped about site over the week 🙂

Last year I did 99km, so a new 'personal best' for me this year 😄

I think Friday's score is counting all of my mad jumping up and down to Confidence Man.  Whatever, it's all exercise 😄

2 minutes ago, Nobody Interesting said:

Don't these step counters count when you dance though so actual walking distances are far less. I know a friend's showed they had walked 10 miles once but they were actually off road driving and it registered all the bumps etc

I include dancing steps as steps because it's lower limb movement that has similar energy expenditure, so I don't begrudge it being included. Could maybe knock it down by 5% for any applause though as upper limb energy expenditure is far less.

Weds: 22,541

Thurs: 22,193

Fri: 21,759

Sat: 21,226

Sun: 19,089

Nearly half as much as most people. However, this was either pushing a toddler pram, or carrying backpack with toddler in. We were at Worthy View, unfortunately toddler wasn’t well tues/weds/thurs/fri with an ear infection, it turned out. So I only had 3hrs sleep on Tuesday/Weds/Thurs/Fri nights (pushing him round at 3am will have increased my stats though, I suppose), so was pretty worn out by the time the main stages opened. Then myself and my wife came down ill from Thurs as well. Missed headliners Sat and Sunday taking little one back to bed.

Just checked. Hovering steady around 30k per day, apart from Friday, which was 21k. But that’s because we got “stuck” in the Avalon Inn from 4:00pm to about 1:00am getting rat arsed with complete strangers. Which was nice.

Would’ve been more if our coach hadn’t got stuck in traffic, we weren’t in and camped until 4ish Wednesday.

My feet and legs were fine, been doing squats for months in preparation but my lower back was not happy with being stood up, walking or dancing continually for 5 days.. must sort my core muscles out by next year. No one told me my core would just give up on me at 50!
